(Proposal) Van-Wpg, Van-Phi and Van-Tor

Recommended Posts

Trade 1:

To Van: Evander Kane

To Wpg: Zack Kassian, Chris Higgins, Luca Sbisa and a 3rd round pick

Trade 2:

To Van: Wayne Simmonds

To Phi: Eddie Lack and Ryan Stanton (maybe add in Vey if they don't accept?)

Trade 3:

To Van: Cody Franson

To Tor: 2nd round pick and Yannick Weber

Winnipegs top 6 and top 4 D are amazing but if they want to challenge in the playoffs then they need some depth players. They're rumoured to have been looking for a bottom 6 winger and Kassian and Higgins give them just that. Sbisa will be a good bottom pairing defencemen for them and the 3rd rounder is a little extra. I'm not too sure what Simmonds is worth, but Philly is definitely looking for D and goaltending. Toronto is reportedly looking for a 2nd for Franson while Weber could be a depth D for them. I know that Benning has said that he won't trade our picks, but when were getting Kane, Simmonds, and Franson back, I think that we could give up a couple.

Keep in mind that I haven't thought about the salary cap in these trades (we're about 4 million over) I'm just looking for the right values for the players.

Daniel-Henrik-Vrbata

Kane-Bonino-Simmonds

Matthias-Richardson-Vey/Burrows

Dorsett-Horvat-Hansen

Edler-Tanev

Hamhuis-Franson

Corrado/Clendening-Bieksa

Miller

Markstrom

Thoughts?

Can you explain why? I think the trades for Kane and Franson are pretty fair. Not sure about Simmonds tho...

Higgins has a NTC and would have to waive. Kassian is an inconsistent 4th line player that doesn't use his size, and Sbisa is another defenseman that the Jets don't need, as they are looking to move one of their defensemen.

Franson will get a late 1st round pick in return, and Simmonds is a beast for Philly. They will want a top 4 d-man in return.

More than anything, the salary doesn't work. So.........

I'm hoping, if the rumours are true, that Winnipeg might just take a similar deal. I don't know...i'm throwing it out there.

Nah none of them are fair. It gets said time and time again here, but people just don't get it; You can't trade quantity for quality. Trading spare parts for top 6 forwards will never happen in real life.

Getting Kane would require one of our solid prospects (bo, hunter, jake or jared) and a top 6 forward (Bonino, Vrbata, or Mathhias).

Question... is Franson a rfa at the end of the year?

I feel like if we are to get Franson, it'll have to be during the offseason...

Since you guys disagree with me on the values, can you make some proposals of your own that you think are reasonable?

Edler would need to be included for Hextall to even have a conversation with Benning. You're offering two bottom six forwards and Sbisa for one of the best young power forwards in the game. Put it this way, if Kassian was as good as Simmonds, would you trade him for that package?
