Alex Burrows "Mic'd Up"!

I was actually a bit surprised there weren't any comments about the Mic'd Up coverage first posted a couple days ago that had Alex Burrows flying around the ice with a mic on.

Was a great bit of footage put together and had a bit of everything.

recap:

Burr smashed into the boards from a crosscheck/ on the bench getting fixed up/ scoring a goal/ chattin'/ chirpin' (though not full tilt, i'm sure) even getting manhandled in front of the net...

You got a taste of his world and it was the best one so far.

As a side note, I'm crazy about this stuff. That new camera they added to the zip line is for the birds. Kinda cool, but not really. You can basically see the jumbo tron and usually you lose sight of the puck unless you own a 60 inch TV . It takes you far away from the action. But the ref cam addition to coverage is amazing! Hoping for player helmet-cams soon!

Put us on the ice! Way more interesting.

Other notable "backstage footage" would be the Nick Bonino one, Brad Richardson, the locker room Horvat Initiation with Coach W... it's all been fantastic in-game coverage this season!

Just had to leave a comment and some props.

Good thing i don't have that problem B)

But in all seriousness, I love the mic'd up stuff. Really shows the respect the guys have for each other, even when on opposing teams

Love this kind of thing.

I'd love to have an option to mute the commentators and have a few players mic'ed up live. Simply put a disclaimer in there that the language may be questionable and enable parental controls to prevent kids from watching.

Hell, I'd even pay extra.

I would too! I guess it would reflect badly to some degree on the league. Some guy gets his track suit thrown in a shower, and everyone goes nutty. Imagine some of the things you hear on ice, can be pretty rough. Might be better off censored to some degree. But yeah, I'd pay. haha.

Yeah I would too. That would make watching games waaay more entertaining.

...Was conversing with friends about creative camera coverage again yesterday.

Why doesn't the league implement some drone cameras.

I myself can buy one at The Source for like 400 bucks.

Hire a couple of pilot/photographers to fly high and behind the Canucks when they are flying up the ice... THAT would be great.

The new zip line camera, is too far away! Pointless in my opinion. Takes you away from the action.

Drone quad-copters are getting more stable, and easier to fly.

Please refer to the 11:35 mark

There was a Ted Talks I couldn't find where these things were carrying full wine glasses around without spilling a drop!

Why are we implementing zip line cams still? Old stuff.
