drummer4now
I found this neat but old article regarding how much NHL players actually make after-taxes.. What's missing though is how much is returned in tax returns. http://www.tsn.ca/talent/westhead-why-montreal-is-the-worst-nhl-city-when-it-s-tax-time-1.106798 I would post the chart, but it would not format properly. The tax man strikes again!
The Colt 45s
US citizen players playing in Canada get dinged twice, once for Canadian federal and provincial taxes, and then US federal employment taxes.
D-Money
The team itself pays a lot of taxes too. I remember years ago reading that the Montreal Canadiens as a franchise pay more taxes than all of the American teams combined. That may not be the case anymore though. hatedkid666
Does price not get taxed because he is native? Or does he also have to be living on a reserve
Ronalds.Kenins41
Does price not get taxed because he is native? Or does he also have to be living on a reserve Price is not native lol. Also the Sedins only make 3.9 million dollars after tax. Shea Weber pays the most in taxes at 5.8 million dollars. No wonder players ask so much these days they essentially give 40-50 % of their salary in taxes.

I'm pretty sure he still has to pay taxes though. Different aboriginal people get different benefits.
D-Money
Price is part-native. Knew another native guy who grew up with him. Don't know if that affects his taxes though, as he doesn't live on a reserve.
