Hunter.S-Kerouac
He is 30 rw once thought to be the best pure sniper in the league. He has suffered a concussion and wrist surgery in recent years. This season his production has been been so terrible Carolina would probably eat cap and pay any team in the league to take him away. As we know... It is likely Higgins Lack and possibly Hansen will likely be moving sooner than later, likely in exchange for picks and prospects. Could Semin become a 30+ goal scorer again playing with the Sedins? Would you take a gamble on him at 4.5 mill if they were willing to retain 2.5 and give him to us for peanuts? Just last year he had 22goals and 42pts could a Sedin bump get him back over 30 goals? Just a thought.
desiboynux4lifee*******
yes he can gain his confidence back. The guy is a pure sniper, but history in the playoffs shows he shy's away from competition. Simply put, he is not a playoff performer, so now, imagine him in the West. etsen3
So what you're asking, if is the production of Semin can increase from a trickle to a blast?
Monty
Absolutely no to Semin. The Canes are going to be eating his contract for years.

Hunter.S-Kerouac
So what you're asking, if is the production of Semin can increase from a trickle to a blast? Pretty much this! Maybe with some invigoration Semin can come blasting back.
hatedkid666
Maybe last year. But this year he proved he is as good as waiver bait
Mr.DirtyDangles
Laziest player i have ever seen in all my life. Not to mention no defensive ability whatsoever. There is multiple videos of him turning away from breakaway passes that he had to reach for and then casually hops back onto the bench. He could not hit his way out of a wet paper bag. We want solid players with high compete levels, not lazy scrubs who need the puck handed to them in the slot. I think he has been healthy scratched like 14 times this year ?? Odd.
When I was around 9-10 years old, I loved watching Alexander Semin. He was the player I loved watching but injuries have literally killed him. Now 6-7 years later, it's kind of unimaginable that he's regressed from a superstar, PPG 1st line liner, to a 3rd liner. I think he just needs a new change of scenery. However how the hell is he supposed to do that if his contract is bad. He might be on the verge to head overseas if this situation gets even more worse than it is. Whatever happens, hope for the best for him in the future. Mathew Barzal
No thanks. Classic case of all talent but no motivation. Do not want. I'm already mad about Vrbata and Miller, no more dressing up this team. It's time to embrace the dark age.

bigbadcanucks
Probably the end of the road for him (except for his big contract) in the NHL. Next stop...the KHL. Single most entertaining fight I have ever been witness to was the slap-fest between Semin and Staal. Said it before...will say it again...I've seen better swings in a park.
