desiboynux4lifee*******
Yakupov for Kassian, Eddie Lack 2016 3rd Oilers get a power-forward that they desperately need. Some-one to protect the young guns and a decent goaltender with decent potential (Dubynk) Yakipov - Canucks get a pure sniper, who has been lost in Edmonton. Nhl totals Kassian has 59 points in 185 games Yakupov - 70 points in 166 games Furthermore, Kassian is a former 1st rounder;therefore, I just hope, Benning doesn't under sell Kassian at the deadline for something silly like a 2nd rounder. Neversummer
Good call ... Kass' stock has just risen over these last few games. Now is good time to pull trigger. Wait a minute ... there is a thread already on the exact same thing. http://forum.canucks.com/topic/367097-proposal-van-edm/

Ghostsof1915
Please stop with the Yakupov trades proposals. He is NOT the second coming of Bure. He is severely over-rated. He won't back check. He has the worst +/- of any of the Oilers. And he has the same points as Dorsett.

So we give up a power forward that we desperately needed since Big Bert and you want to give him away to the Oilers because they need one. So could you tell us who's going to replace our next power forward? Sorry but your outdated if you think Dubynk still with the Oilers. If Yakupov is such a sniper then why isn't he in the Oilers line up on a regular basis.

Piggy Bank
CDC Logic: When Kassian is bad, "trade him" "get a draft pick for him" "he's useless" When Kassian is good, "don't trade him" "he is coming into form" "this is what we've waited for" If you want to trade a player, its smarter off to do it when his stock is higher than lower... my 2 cents

oldnews
Yakupov 39 points in his last 118 games -61 -29 turnover differential Last season -11.22 corsi on, 63.9% offensive zone starts This season -8.61 corsi on, 64.3% offensive zone starts - and an abysmal 45.9% finishes. Facing the 20th strongest quality of competition among Oilers. He's actually regressing and having a worse season than his sophomore collapse. Praft pedigree isn't worth a damn thing imo. Why would Vancouver give up a potential starting goaltender/franchise goaltender, a power forward who has quite frankly been better than Yakupov in virtually all aspects of the game over the past two years, and a pick? For the possibility that Yakupov's dormant potential awakens somewhere else? Sorry, but that's not a sound basis of player valuation. Their actual performance is, which is what makes Yakupov, imo worth a late 1st at best at this point. Lack, Kassian and a pick is an overpayment that could bring a more predictable return imo. Yakupov may be worth taking a risk on, but not at that price. Equally importantly - he's also not what this team needs. What this team needs is for it's own Kassian, it's own Vey, it's own Horvat, Jensen, Shinkaruk, Virtanen, Cassels, McCann to develop properly. Edmonton may be best off moving Yakupov - perhaps there's greater risk in keeping him than dealing him, perhaps not, but regardless, what they need is to fundamentally change the way they run their organization, and Kassian and/or Lack are not going to remedy that. ice orca
I still can't grasp why people are so enthralled about Yakupov, guy is a monstros mess in his whole game. He doesn't stike me as a player Benning would touch with a 10ft pole.
komodo1970
The kid plays well....Trade him. Good idea He plays well for a couple games and you think he's becoming a franchise player? If he was at 20 pnts I would keep him. If he could defend his own zone, I would keep him. If he would defend his teammates, I would keep him. Unfortunately, he does none of the above, so I view him as being very tradeable. Unfortunately, I see him as more of a throw in as part of a package deal than as the main piece. Not really interested in Yakupov either. GM ruined this kid by rushing him into the NHL before he was ready. The same can be said for a couple of their other top picks. They can put the puck in the net, but they can't stop it from going in their own. As long as Lowe and MacTavish are running that team, I think they're in trouble for a long time to come. Ryan Strome
Yakupov is garbage!! don't understand cdc's obsession with him??? If I was Edmonton i would do Kassian for Yakupov straight up. Btw op, you made me laugh when you said Yak was a pure sniper. :)I
