Bobby_Lu1ngo
Just wondering if Devils have any NHL rights to Kovy anymore. When he went to KHL didn't they release him. With the problems with the Russian economy if he and Radulov came back to the NHL would they be UFA?
Guest Dasein
No because he retired and their penalty for his contract was overturned too
Horvat
No because he retired and their penalty for his contract was overturned too can he not unretire?
Guest Dasein
Ya but then NJD doesn't hold his rights
tyhee
Ya but then NJD doesn't hold his rights I expect you're right, but with the contract he signed in September, 2010 being for 15 years, how does that work?
Hunter.S-Kerouac
Its so hypocritical that the league makes a Luongo rule then lets NJ get out of the Kovi deal all it cost was picking last in a single draft. Total bs
Bobby_Lu1ngo
Its so hypocritical that the league makes a Luongo rule then lets NJ get out of the Kovi deal all it cost was picking last in a single draft. Total bs No doubt. No recapture penalty or anything simply because the teams was so crappy financially they got let off the hook. This scenario was what really hooped us with luongo. Should have been the kovalchuk rule rather than luongo rule.
Dickie
I'm pretty sure that since he retired if he wanted to re-join the NHL, he would need all of the owners to agree to allow him to return.
Rick Grimes
Its so hypocritical that the league makes a Luongo rule then lets NJ get out of the Kovi deal all it cost was picking last in a single draft. Total bs and what if it had been first overall? Still total BS?
hatedkid666
What if Nashville signed him like they did with radulov a few years back
Guest Dasein
I'm pretty sure that in that case, NSH still held Radulov's rights so Radulov had no choice Whereas Kovy would have 30 teams lined up
Baer.
Kovalchuk may not return to the NHL until he is 35 years old, when his contract expires. Even then he can only join the Devils. I read up on this not too long ago. Same goes for Radulov and Nashville, and Sobotka and St Louis.
