[RUMOUR] Kessel to the Rangers

There are rumors brewing about a potential trade involving the Toronto‪#‎MapleLeafs‬ and New York ‪#‎Rangers‬, one that could involve Toronto’s star forward Phil Kessel.

It is being rumored that the ‪#‎Leafs‬ want Chris Kreider, one of the Rangers top prospects in either Anthony Duclair or Brady Skjei, a 1st round pick in 2016 and a 2nd rounder in 2015. Their is an obvious salary cap challenge that would have to be addressed.

Pretty sure the Rangers are going to be in cap trouble as it is without adding Kessel. That wouldn't be a salary cap challenge, that's a salary cap gauntlet. This trade is not happening without Toronto retaining the max amount of Kessel's salary PLUS taking more from the Rangers nevermind getting 3 significant pieces of the Rangers future. I want whatever they're smoking in TO.

Kessel is a star. Would be a great acquisition for the rangers if they're going all in

No. Havent we learned lessons yet about filling a roster with high priced talent like the Rangers of the late nineties. Doesn't work.

The Rangers actually have some hardworking players with skill and some quality youth coming up. Dont mess with it.

Going all in ? There are much more subtle less costly in assets and salary options that can produce.
