Bobby_Lu1ngo
Just wondering what everyones thoughts are in terms of teams willing to trade their first round draft picks. Who would you think would have their first rounder available in the draft due to a bigger need on their current roster or for a playoff run? Could anyone see any teams in the top 10 actually move their pick?
Tom Sestito
I don't think Montreal is willing to. I believe they're going to push next year.. they're not ready yet. Price would have to be Hasek 2.
Bobby_Lu1ngo
Top 10 what? Standings or Lottery odds? Of course any team that thinks they have a serious shot at a cup would use their first round pick for playoff assets. Pretty sure you can figure this question out on your own.. Anaheim Montreal Tampa Rangers Boston L.A Chicago Those are my Favourites for the cup, Minus Pittsburgh and St louis who are without there first rounders this yr. Any team would move their first round pick IF the price was right. Minus the top 2 or 3 this year because of the McEichel factor. Im not asking for my own opinion. Im asking for others opinions. Hence the creation of the thread.

Bobby_Lu1ngo
Tampa has rangers first this year I believe. That gives them two. But Yzerman doesn't seem like the guy to trade his first rounders. Boston I can't see it since I think they realize they are trending downwards. Chicago and LA yes due to having prospect depth and a shot at winning. Same with Ducks. Top 10 lottery I could see either philly or avs willing. flames, wild, Stars, and panthers I could see for playoff push parts. Jets also as they have 2 now they would probably trade 1. Possibly caps. Bobby_Lu1ngo
Sorry OP I wasn't trying to be a jerk. Montreal was a healthy Carey Price away from making the finals(Kreider the goalie hunter), maybe all they need is one more piece. I know they have said they are looking for a 3rd line winger with grit and offensive ability from watching some games and the discussion on the broadcasts. Trying to replace bourque and moen. Probably not wanting to count on bournival and christian thomas for these roles in playoffs. I'd bet they would like a veteran depth defenseman as well. Weber and gilbert are 5/6 with beaulieu 7. If they pick up a defenceman it'll be someone much better than Weber (whom the already let walk away as an unqualified RFA)
