AriGold
Let's just hypothetically say Cody Franson re-signs in Nashville and they make Roman Josi available. How even is this trade ? Would each team do it ? To : Jordan Eberle To : Roman Josi
Rick Grimes
Nashville values the D, at this current moment in time, they will not be trading anybody; however, if they had gone on a 10-15 game losing streak and couldn't get any scoring, and Josi suddenly stopped producing, they might consider this. Kaner
I think Nashville would do it, because they can afford to lose one of their defensman, especially if Franson were to sign long term. Also, there are a couple of aging forwards on Nashville who might only have a couple good years left in the tank. I think Edmonton wouldn't except this trade, simply be said they overvalue their players tremendously. They would probaly want Forsberg or something
YEGCanuck
Each team would be smart to consider such an opportunity. Quality defensemen are more difficult to obtain than soft forwards. That being said the Oil are managed by morons who over-value their players so on second thought they would not do that deal.

I see you didn't read everything I wrote.. IF Franson re-signed with Nashville and Josi was expendable. Where is the value of the trade ?
Mr.Plow
I would love if the Canucks could get Josi, but don't think we have the assets to get him. Guy is a beast, and would solidify our top 4(Edler/Josi/Tanev/Hamhuis). Also I think this trade is fair for both teams. Josi/Nurse/Hanifin would be a great d-man core for the Oilers. TheRussianRocket.
Doubt Nashville does it even if Franson re-signs. There defense is what makes them incredible and you don't find many top pair dmen like Josi around often. Just my $0.02 though the value is close. Disaronno
Value is close. If NSH were to retain Franson.. they do this deal. However, I could see EDM wanting another piece. I think EDM needs to clean house on their D and re-tool from the back end. Josi, Schultz, Nurse, Klefbom & Musil would be something positive moving forward for the Oilers. Master Mind
Josi > Eberle as of now. Oilers would do this trade, but Nashville has no need to unless their scoring dries up next year, in which case I think the Oilers need to add a bit more to make it happen. underrated
Good proposal. Very equal in terms of talent. With Nashville being the best team in the league right now, they probably wouldn't be willing to get rid of a top core player, even if they are getting a great player in return.
