Danny - Hank - Burr
Vey* - Bones* - Vrbata (wouldn't mind upgrading this at left and center still but it's an offensive line)
Matthias - Horvat - Kassian

Kenins - Richie - Dorsett

Move Hansen and Higgins and their combined $5 salary, carry a versatile veteran as the 13th guy.

Edler - Tanev
Hammer - Bieksa/ Clendening

Stanton - Clendening/ Corrado

Doubt Juice moves but if he does we'd save quite a bit. Sbisa should also get at least a 3rd by himself.

Goalies I don't know. Miller is a good stopgap but given the Lack - Markstrom conundrum, if Lack proves he's ready to start then I'd be ready to say bye to Ryan. Then again, I don't think he would have signed here if he risked getting moved again, hence the N.M.C. With that, he'd better get ready to share some of his starts with either of the Swedes we have in net. Either of Markstrom or Lack could always get moved though.

Really hoping that Jensen and Virtanen make the team next year and bring the same amount of energy as Kenins.

I wouldn't mind parting ways with Bonino in a package for a young high skilled C, I'm thinking Draisaitl is our best chance at good value. Edmonton's likely to win the McEichel sweepstakes, so they'll have RNH as well. It would be unfortunate if Matthias was the price for Driasaitl, but I could see it happening since Matthias has largely outplayed Bonino and is in for a salary bump. Matthias has been great for us this season but Driasaitl could be our next big franchise player.

Really hard to say who will be back next year. But we need some more dynamic wingers or a C that can make some sick plays happen.

Virtanen is an RW

Usually players who are more of the shoot-first or the powerforward variety like to play on their off wing. Of course that's not always the case. Playing the off wing allows you get the one-timer out easier, as well as protect the puck better when you're driving the net. Players like Virtanen, Ovechkin, Sharp, Hossa, etc. like to play the off wing for those reasons.

Matthias is UFA. Why would the asking price be a upcoming UFA.

If oilers are set to get McDavid, it would be way smarter for them to ship off RNH. They'd get a huge return for him and also still have a solid 1-2 punch with Leon at 2c.

Jensen? Really?

People need to start at least considering the fact that this guy will not be an NHL regular, I think this was the year he was supposed to grab his spot, like J.S last year, he did not. Maybe he'll get a chance somewhere else. I hope he does, but with the Canucks, I think he's nearly done. The heat will be on Shinkaruk next, he's got a couple of years to make the team, and prove he's the real deal. Guys like Gaunce McCann, Cassels and Horvat (Had he needed it) will get longer looks because they can fit into other roles. Even Virtanen's size and speed could qualify him for different roles if his offensive game doesn't translate. Jensen and Shink need to make the top 6 (like JS) and they have a limited amount of time to prove that is where they belong.

and to all the Mathias fans out there: Sombody will drastically over pay him for his size, I really doubt it will be us. He is in his prime earning years and has to take the highest dollar figure he can get to set him and his family up for life. The NHL is obsessed with size at this time, it's the perfect storm for him to land a Clarkson-esqe deal, if he hits 20 goals from the third line? forget it! Sather will probably throw a 5 per 5 deal his way.

Do you really think we are going to give up on Vey? One of the few truly talented offensive forwards we have? On an ELC? Have you watched the plays he's made in traffic? Only the Sedins have more Raw skill (Maybe Kassian, when he's at the top of his game) He's a rookie and will be getting better, and the gifts he possesses are obvious. For some reason he has not endeared himself to CDC, perhaps because he will lose the puck on a risky play every now and then? He's taking risks, like all those with talent should.

I feel like we have to move another vet out of our D, to make way for a prospect. We've been told it won't be Edler (Though that could have been posturing by the Trev to get Detroit to up their offers) We know it won't be Kevin "Down with the ship"Bieksa, That leaves Hamhuis. This trade deadline could be the perfect time to move him as I see his play eroding somewhat, and though he will still be good, he might not be a top-pair guy anymore soon, a team with their sights on the cup would LOVE to have a guy like this in their back pocket for when the D starts getting injured in the play-offs, as they always do.
