Magnum P I
team 1040 just had someone on close to the team saying likely 4-6 weeks as he is getting an MRI done today. He said word is . And I quote " it doesn't look good ". 3 of our top 4 d men , our best d man call up, second line centre and best defensive forward All out. It's going to get ugly here folks UPDATE: 1040 sports update says word is its his back again and he will be out for a lengthy period of time. Guest
If so, then...oh s**t! We could stand the loss for 3-5 games, but 4-6 weeks?
Lockhart
4-6 weeks or 4-6 months?
Magnum P I
4-6 weeks or 4-6 months?Weeks But if u look at the schedule , could not have come at a worse time Probably back. He had surgery on it a while ago. That's what I'm assuming. They didn't say what the injury might be obviously , but just that it didn't look good I guess
Where's Wellwood
This is the time that you sell and let injuries be your excuse for tanking.
King Heffy
Damn. I know I've been hard on him, but he's been rock solid for us this year and this couldn't come at a worse possible time. We can't be trading off future pieces for a quick fix, and we won't make the playoffs with the D as it stands now. Time to sell IMO.
Guest Dasein
This could be the Luca Sbisa breakout party Or the Deadline sellers party
Ballisticsports.
Tanking? Or, We call up some prospects, and see if they have a future with the big club (Isn't that part of the reason we have them) ?

Guest Dasein
I think the team still tries to make a push for the playoffs, and if they fall out of the race before the deadline, we sell

Warhippy
Again. As stated earlier in the GDT There is little to any reason for Benning to jump on board the overpriced rental market. If he is making a trade as per his words and his history of trades it is most likely going to for a Pouliot a Larsson a Bouwey or someone like that. young able to grow with this team and between the 20-25 age grouping this team so desperately needs. You do not just go out and magically replace a top pairing D man on any team in the league just because. Having Bieksa and Edler out hurts. A lot. Tanev being questionable as well almost signifies the start of the downward slope of this team unless Biega Corrado and Bo-Sang can actually come up and produce, but this would be at the huge expense of a wildly successful turn around season for our Baby nucks in utica We will be watching the Kings Jets Wild and Sharks do their thing and if they continue to trend upwards and we are lucky enough with these injuries to play even .500 hockey we will be on the outside looking in by the end of the month. Scary stuff people but really. It is what it is. We live or die by our depth at the moment as there is no replacing 3/4's of a top 4 D core and any actual trades will be almost prohibitively expensive. Guest Dasein
preferably both You can only have one If Luca breaks out then we survive without Edler and make the playoffs If Luca is not ready then we crash and burn without Edler, sell at the deadline as a result, and miss the playoffs

CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Man I can't see how Jim Benning and Trevor Linden can sell the Vancouver fans how we could make a playoff push with a decimated team filled with a mash up of old veterans, unproven rookies and spare parts. Please don't be desperate and make a stupid rental trade at the deadline. stay the course, develop the young and let them replenish our system. Regarding some of our vets and ufas, appraise them find the value and decide whether its worth selling them off because this organization really just needs to fully decide to take a hard run or start the rebuild. Enough with the retooling, this team won't find an identity that way with trying to throw band aids over the wounds. It was on the radio. Team 1040 just reported that. I don't have a link I can confirm this, I also was listening and heard the same
Warhippy
This is the time that you sell and let injuries be your excuse for tanking. Honestly, the T word is a terrible word. The time to do that was at the beginning of the season pre Vrbata and Miller. If we slide between now and March 1st...I like to consider it a reshuffling of or consolidation of organizational assets. Missing 3/4's of your top 4 D core with the conference on your heels...could precipitate that very quickly

Spoosh
Wether Edler is out long-term or not, we won't be 'sellers' at the deadline. We wan't to make the playoffs. 'Once you get in there, it's a new season -Jim Benning We might move a Higgins or Hansen for the right kinda return, but we won't sell because of injuries. It would be silly to give up all of a sudden. Injuries happen and they are prepared to work with what we have to make it in. either we do or don't - but it doesn't fit the philosophy of either Linden or Benning to give up when you don't even know what's going to happen really. I think they have a little more faith in our group and depth than fans here do...
