Zuongo
http://www.pensburgh.com/2015/2/17/8044475/depth-scoring-from-forwards-across-the-nhl So I saw this post showing the 'Depth Scoring' by forwards by each NHL team. Found it interesting seeing how the Canucks scoring is distributed alongside all the other teams currently in the NHL. Unlike some teams who heavily lean on their top 2 lines for scoring, We have quite a nice balance it seems (But we all kinda knew that already) Anyway take a look! Burnsey
Yes, it's been great to see how the bottom 6 has done, although it would be nice if the top 6 could push their numbers up a bit. Nonetheless in the playoffs, having a good bottom 6 is a key reason to the success of winning teams.
Riggs
Success in the playoffs always comes down to depth. The top lines more or less cancel each out or get checked heavily. Depth players almost always seem to have massive impacts when a team goes on a decent run. This is a good omen for the Canucks but their top guys need to be better than they have been in the last few playoffs.

They get neutralized more often than not and it falls on the support to push the team over the edge. Often a line will go hot for a series (Kesler vs NSH, or Sedins vs SJS) but struggle against a different team and it will fall on others to be a hero. It takes a full roster to win a cup nowadays, all 18 skaters must contribute (plus depth players in case of injury).

oldnews
Another interesting study about the actual vs perceived production of NHL forwards - done a few years ago, but still very representative of the current NHL scoring. http://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/2011/9/27/2452941/common-misconceptions-how-much-should-that-forward-score Puts in context how dumb it's been around here, with all the complaining about guys like Higgins and Hansen over the years.
