Not only do we not need a 3rd liner, but we are going to have to start inserting more young blood into this lineup... not filling it with older plugs. Thanks but no thanks. We don't (at least once the current injury situation gets better) so if Canucks traded for Bergensheim then one of the other forwards should go in trade for him. Bergensheim will be an UFA this summer. He appears to be a rental. We have a few coming free agents in that mix, and Richardson and Matthias would both be unrestricted. If Richardson were healthy, an even trade for Bergensheim would make sense to me. Richardson still brings value, but it is value the Canucks can replace and Florida gets rid of a player that doesn't want to be there. It goes pretty much without saying that Canucks shouldn't give a piece they might have use for in the future for a 31 year old rental-no pick, no decent prospect, no young player who is likely to be useful in tlhe future. Noseforthenet Posted February 23, 2015 Share Posted February 23, 2015 The only reason this makes sense is people are wanting picks for players and we have depth, so we would be shipping out some bottom 6 players for the pick we could use to grab a guy like Bergenheim.
