He's a puckhound. Whatever offense he provides is welcome, but as long as he plays with the energy he has, he stays in the lineup or sure. He could end up a very good third liner. DefCon1 Posted February 20, 2015 Share Posted February 20, 2015 As much as we complain about some of his drafting, Gillis did an excellent job bringing in prospects via free agency. Lack, Tanev, and Kenins are all awesome. Gillis was also responsible for acquiring Richardson and Matthias along with Santorelli. Gillis is definitely competent when it comes to recognizing talent. (He in rookie season registered 13 hits in one game vs Maple Leafs :D). High energy player, speed and tenacity to go with it. Very happy for him, and am excited to see him playing for us for years to come! What a nice little surprise he has been.
