TOMapleLaughs
Pierre Lebrun stated last night on Insider Trading that the Buffalo Sabres are interested in acquiring Ryan OReilly from the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche are currently sitting well behind in the Western Conference standings, a full nine points back for the final wild card spot. All things considered, the Colorado Avalanche are going to be asking for a big return for anyone looking to get Ryan OReilly out of the mile high hockey city. Cost is of no object for Tim Murray, who has plenty of money in his wallet to spend when talking with fellow general managers. Murray wasnt afraid to overpay to make his team better in the Zach Bogosian/Kane trade, and he likely will do it again, to make sure that he is the team that people are talking about days after Ryan OReilly is no longer in Colorado. source: TSN videohttp://sabrenoise.com/2015/02/20/buffalo-sabres-trade-rumors-ryan-oreilly-next-target/ Murray is using his collection of 2015 1sts to build up his team quickly. Question is if Kane and ROR, both headaches for their old teams, are guys to build around. Nonetheless, the Sabres may steal all this deadline's major activities. TOMapleLaughs
Eklund says the Islanders are also targeting him. Both teams have a few prospects and picks to burn, well more than us, esp. on defense, where we are paper-thin. Count us out of the ROR sweepstakes, esp. when we have a cheaper/better one in Horvat. Kaner
Buffalo is starting to pick things up. They are starting to get a good group of forwards especially with them almost guaranteed to get McDavid. I mean, Reinhart, Kane, ROR, Girgenkos or whatever his name is, McDavid, and COHO. Drakrami
Why do we need someone whose scored less goals than Hansen this season?

D-Money
If Sabres acquire ROR, it won't be until after the season is complete. They aren't going to risk adding an impact player during the year, for fear of winning additional games. The Kane deal worked when it did because he can't play. Unless its an impact for impact player+ deal I think this waits for the offseason. 38p in the standing and edmonton is at 44p but has played a game more, too risky to improve your team and lose McDavid

Unless its an impact for impact player+ deal I think this waits for the offseason. 38p in the standing and edmonton is at 44p but has played a game more, too risky to improve your team and lose McDavid Well, due to the new lottery odds nobody has a particularly great chance at McDavid. What Buffalo is doing is more to make sure they at least get Eichel.
ManUtd
If an overpayment means we get Zadorov then sign me up. No way Sabres give him up though. Absolutely no interest in the Grigorenko + McCabe/Pysyk + NYI/STL 1st deal all the Sabres fans on HF are throwing around. Would much rather take a lesser value package from a team like the Pens or Habs as long as it includes a young LD who can play in the top 4 now like Despres or Tinordi. Odd.
I agree with D-Money. If Sabres try to acquire ROR, it'll be in the off season. NYI makes sense though. ROR would help them drastically in their line-up, help push them for a serious playoff run.
Kaner
If the Sabres do end up getting McDavid, they would have some insane centre depth: McDavid, Reinhart, ROR
JiffyPB
Ryan O'Reilly is a passenger who is looking to cash in and anyone looking to acquire him should be wary about overpaying. Then again a 3rd liner like Bolland gets 5.5 million so I wonder how much ROR thinks he's worth.
Jiggs50
Man I'm really liking the way Tim Murray thinks. He gave up a lot for Kane but he's aggressive. Seems like he really knows what direction he wants to take the team in the future. Not settling for picks on picks on picks like the Oilers lol

Why not a deal with the Coyotes and get Yandle. Just makes too much sense I agree with D-Money. If Sabres try to acquire ROR, it'll be in the off season. NYI makes sense though. ROR would help them drastically in their line-up, help push them for a serious playoff run. NYI is loaded down the middle. If I'm Islanders I go after Kessel. Kessel and Tavares on the same line. That would be the east's version of Toews and Kane
ManUtd
Why not a deal with the Coyotes and get Yandle. Just makes too much sense That would be my preference (short of finding a way to pry Maatta out of Pitts). Arizona fans so far haven't been all that keen on it or want us to add significantly. Maloney seems to be overvaluing players given what he wants for Vermette too. ROR + mid pick/decent prospect is fine but any more isn't going to work with how bad our farm system is and with Yandle having an equal amount of time left on his contract.
