S N Y P E R S 7
There are quite a few players that have caught my eye from the NCAA this year. Guys who go above and beyond from game to game for their respective teams. Impact players. Check them out and I'll answer any questions people have: Mike Vecchione Ahti Oksanen Justin Kloos Alex Petan Kevin Dufour Casey Nelson Shane Conacher Please feel free to add any more names to the list of players who you think NHL teams should consider signing. These are just my personal favorites.

I wouldn't mind if the Canucks took a waiver out on Teddy Doherty. He's a shorter D-Man, in the Jordan Subban/Torey Krug/Jared Sprugeon mold but he seems to be doing well and he's probably got ties to Jim Benning, considering Teddy is currently on a Boston College team alongside Thatcher Demko. Go Faulk Yourself
Mike Reilly. Perhaps the biggest UFA college prospect this summer, barring he doesn't sign with CBJ, which is sounding more and more likely. I would LOVE to snag him. IronFistPedan
Seems more and more college guys are making it these days. Has this ever been the case in the past? Seems some of these guys make an easier transition to NHL hockey than the Canadian Juniors, I know they play a higher age group, but I always assumed Canadian Junior hockey was more physical and "up-tempo". But with more of the college games being televised now, I've had a chance to watch it a bit. Must say I'm impressed, to someone who's not a hockey guru, the pace and grit these guys play with looks no different to me. Has college hockey stepped it up in recent years? Or have I just been living under a rock?

87Crosby
Any Ronalds Kenins/Jannik Hansen/Chris Higgins type players? Not the points but someone that plays hard and crashes the net.

Not the points but someone that plays hard and crashes the net. I'd describe Vecchione like that. Sure he gets points, but he's scrummy and gets the job done any way possible. Always plays hard, brings a good two-way game, and is speedy. Able to cash in on loose pucks in front of the net, and isn't afraid to battle it out with much larger opponents. wshdrvvn
Was Mike Vecchione the kid from Union we invited to rookie camp last year? If I'm thinking of the right player, he scored 2 goals including the game winner in their NCAA championship game. Gotta like a player who steps up in the big games. As for others, I would be interested in Oksanen; I think he'll be the big get for NCAA signings this year. Gavin Bayreuther is another guy who would be interesting, though I think he'll stay in college to up his value more for when he's a junior or senior. I believe he was the only defenseman to outscore Ben Hutton last season, and he did it as a freshman. As always, NCAA FA season should be fun. I just hope we push hard to get Oksanen signed. I really wouldn't be surprised to hear the Canucks are high on his list. Plays in JB's stomping ground at BU, great size, offensively talented, gets an elite level of SoGs per game, plays a clean game (0 major penalties in his NCAA career with just 17 minor penalties), and is a good overall defender. On top of all that, he fits into the age group this organization lacks the most. To me, you do whatever it takes to get this kid on your team. Like Christian Folin, it's hard not to see Oksanen as an NHLer in the near future.

You are physically and mentally more mature. It's really the time at all rookies should come into the NHL but they will never change the entry age. S N Y P E R S 7
Casey Bailey anyone? Looks interesting; honestly haven't heard anything about him yet. Canucks probably aren't looking for another center, though. gmen81
Watching the beanpot and was impressed with Ahti Oksanen. Checked his stats and he has 19 goals. Why is he not drafted? What's missing from his game?

What's missing from his game? Yeah Ahti Oksanen is an emerging star with that team. He's a lot like Byfuglien or Burns, that versatile two-way D or Forward. Awesome shot, very mobile, of course that versatility. Great asset.
