Peaches
This team is way different than 2012 Kings. Many thought before the season started that those Kings could be a threat, but they underachieved during regular season. If you were to tell the experts pre-season that those Kings would win a cup, they wouldn't have been shocked. This Canucks team on the other hand... You like their work ethic and bottom 6, but I can't see them getting past round 2.
Ronalds.Kenins41
Oh for sure. We beat a team like the Kings, Ducks, or Blackhawks in the 1st round these guys will have so much confidence. I actually believe this team "could" be better than our 2011 team. Look at our records vs playoff teams in the west and tell me you think this team is better than the 2011 team. Even if they are better than the 2011 team, so is every other team. Our entire conference as way better than they were in 2011.
*Buzzsaw*
Assuming Nashville has a healthy Pekke Rinne, I am not sure how anyone beats them. He is the probably the best goaltender in the league right now... better than Quick. I know a lot of people are high on the Canuck's balance of lines, but if you look at Nashville, they are awesome in that area. They have two guys over 20 goals, two guys over 15 and 6 over 10. Their defense is huge and mobile, and MEAN. Anyone who plays them is going to be dealing with a nasty, physical and stingy team. Out of the East, I am going with New York again... they are much better than their record indicates... once they get Henrik Lundqvist back, they are going to be very difficult to beat... they have speed, skill and toughness. East id have to go with either: Rangers Canadians West: Kings Ducks Blackhawks Canucks- I BELIEVE!!! If we were in east i think we would be #1 in conference. The west is tough. But there is no team i think we cant beat in the playoffs. I think wed beat the preds and blackhawks. The king and ducks would be the only 2 i would not want to see them play. Not that i dont think they could win but it would be a very tough battle. The predators are on a roll. 20-3-1 at home and filip forsburg is a stud. But come playoff time dorsett will make sure forsburg is scared to touch the puck. I honestly prefer nashville/calgary/blues in the first round. If we win first 2 rounds we will extend our 3 round record to 4-0 and hopefully will the cup! :-)

Plum
Gotta stay healthy and our top 4 can be outstanding with Edler-Tanev (a good shutdown pairing) and then Hamhuis-Corrado/Clendening. If we can get some offence from our defence whether it be with Clendening or Corrado providing a spark. Goaltending has to be solid consistent. Offence has to have the Sedins doing alright and one or more of our 3 other lines producing on different nights to keep secondary scoring alive. Longshot though, I don't know how we'll be able to beat teams like Chicago, L.A, Nashville. St.Louis, Anaheim. Alot of us didn't expect to make the playoffs so it won't be devastating if we lose in the playoffs.
runtzguy
There is no doubt in my mind that we wont win a cup in the sedin era. But in the Horvat era, hmmmm.....
shiznak
I can see us upsetting one, maybe two teams in the playoffs, but not 4.
roland
I thought Calgary has been most impressive this season. They went from hopeless to legit chance at a playoff spot.
Quoted
When you're talking about a cinderalla team, you're talking about the Edmonton Oilers in the 2006-07 season. That was a Cinderalla team. The 2012 LA Kings weren't that. They were literally just a piece or two away from posing a serious threat and once they acquired Carter at the deadline, it was pretty much set in stone. They were artificially low in the standings because of a very slow start. In the second half (post trade deadline anyway), they were one of the better teams in the league so not that big of a shock that they did so well in the playoffs. Lancaster
A lot of maybes will be required. Miller gotta play at the same level as in 2010 / Lack becoming the next Lundqvist The Sedins gotta be close to their Art Ross years. Edler playing like it's 09/10/11 Hamhuis during his first year in Vancouver. Bieksa believing he's in his final year of his contract. Kassian summoning his inner Bertuzzi and play like he's Todd from the St. Louis series. Bo Horvat replicating Mike Richards of the Flyers. Bonino playing like he did back in October/November Kenins and Dorsett maintaining their current physical level of play. Matthias/Richardson becoming the next Pahlsson/Niedermayer shutdown pairing. The Canucks will need at least half of those to happen if they want to make a run.
mj vic
Honestly if we secure a play off spot it's a win for the season. I've been impressed by Trevor and Bennings at putting together a team that provides some excitement while retooling for the future. Not selling the farm but at the same time giving us a chance at the off season is all I could ask for.
FijianCanuck
If they put together a string of solid wins going into the playoffs i would say yes to being a Cinderella team but if they continue to play .500 hockey then 1st or 2nd round exit. Sweathog
It's possible for sure, but I think the odds are against us. We would need the Sedins to be at their best in all four rounds for that to happen, and with having to face heavy teams like LA+Anaheim+Winnipeg, I can see them getting gradually worn down. I'm also concerned about the defense, they could stand to be a little bigger and tougher to handle the big forwards in a physical series. They likely need only one bruiser that can clear the crease, and be able to handle top 4 minutes (McQuaid mabye?) but I don't know if Benning is willing to part with assets to get that kind of player at this time. DefCon1
Now at the beginning of the season we thought we would be lucky to make it to the playoffs. Great start, eventually slowed down. One thing i have noticed is this team has battled and i mean BATTLED to remain 2nd in the pacific. There were time this year id sit and think oh now here we go again (repeat of last year), but then the next game they would come out and surprise the s*** out of me. Their now starting to play more consistanly. They kind of remind me of the 2012 kings a little bit. A team that could roll 4 lines with scoring ability. And just the way they play as a team. This good character thing is really helping the whole group come together and just play for eachother. Which is appealing to UFAs (little off topic). I see a team that will THRIVE come playoffs time. They are going to play with so much emotion and shock a lot of teams. I think if we can avoid the kings we will have a really good shot at making a push for the cup. What do you guys think? Are we the cinderella team of 2015? our defense says otherwise. Unless Bennings trades for a #1 defenseman and a great center.

I agree, I can't see benning giving up the future for rentals. The only thing that would work is a hockey trade. Possibly trading Higgins or Matthias? Baggins
Are we the cinderella team of 2015? I think going from 10th in the west last year to first overall in the league makes Nashville the Cinderella team.
