BCNeil
So looks like ticket prices will stay the same next year. As well playoff tickets will be the same as 2 years ago. I guess this is good news.
sharnhayre
Prices should've come down the way ticket prices fell on the market. I am disappointed for sure but this was expected.
DonaldBrashear
That time of year already BCNeil? Hello. I thought it was good news too, but... they aren't really advertising it, and I think the reason is because most people think prices should come down. Any season ticket holder who has tried to sell tickets this year has seen how bad the market is. Pretty much no one wants them. Tickets are selling for way below season ticket holder cost a lot of times. That's not sustainable... because if it was then people would dump their season tickets and buy on the open market. I suspect low renewal rates again this year. Vancouver is, and always has been a "round 2 city". People only pay attention to the Canucks when they win the 1st round of the playoffs and go to round 2. This is exactly what happened in 2002-03 season when the Canucks went to Round 2 for the first time in 7 seasons. They sold out every game after that for almost 10 years. Same thing happened in 1991-92.
DonaldBrashear
Just reading the fine print and I see the following in the email: Plus, the first 500 members to renew their 2015.16 Season membership will receive a complimentary pair of tickets to an upcoming home game this season. In other words, "We've got 500 pairs of tickets we can't sell, so we might as well give them away".
BCNeil
Yeah but its 500 pairs spread over 13 games. I assume not Toronto. And I better be getting them, I renewed literally 3 minutes after I was emailed. I am predicted they are nosebleeds against the Coyotes.

I made double or triple my money on some of the big games and I sell most for 10-20 bucks above cost. I have sold a couple for $10-20 loss but those were due to friends bailing on me last minute

Not so easy to sell like row 15 or
jovocop55
Anyone else not renewing their playoff tickets? I'll pass on the playoff tickets
Kaner
This is my first year getting seasons tickets, in Section 311. I didn't want to pay the prices of the lower bowl until I knew we would be a dominant team again. Question for those people who have already renewed or have renewed in the past: When you renew, do you have the option to change seats? Or do you do that later on? DonaldBrashear
Anyone else not renewing their playoff tickets? I'll pass on the playoff tickets I haven't decided yet but probably not. With LA moving up the standings, it's pretty much a sure bet they will finish 2nd in the pacific division behind Anaheim. That means that we would face a good team in the 1st round, either LA or Anaheim or Nashville or Chicago. If we're just going to get eliminated in the 1st round then there's no point. But if we could somehow finish 2nd in our division we might get lucky with like Calgary or San Jose I guess.

After the season is over, they have a big multi-day "season ticket selection" event at Rogers Arena. You get a date/time when you can show up to choose new seats. If you want your existing seats, you dont need to go. All of the seats have placards on them showing whats available. You can switch to any of those seats. TheCammer
Really considering not renewing this year. Just finding it harder and harder to justify. The ticket price is one thing, it's really the cost of attending that is driving me away.

sharnhayre
I'm not buying playoff tickets but will probably go down to half season next year since prices didn't come down and as some mentioned above.. its cheaper to just buy on the open market on gameday. My cost is $305/pair and I've been selling for $250/pair tops lately. That $50 hit accumulates over the duration of the year.
DonaldBrashear
Awesome! Thanks so much. Also, do you guys think it's worth it going to centre ice in the upper bowl? That's kind of a tough question because everyone is different. I'm not a huge fan of "half way between" seats. When I go to games I either want the cheapest seats or the best seats. I don't know why I am like that, but it's just how it is. Upper bowl centre can get pretty expensive if you go into the UB1 category.

Just remember that I think if you drop to half season you will have to re-select your tickets. So if you have good seats then you will lose them.
