CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Minny has always had a high affinity for finish players.
Lui's Knob
It's a fair deal. Bergenheim is your typical bottom six forward but on a larger cap hit, a 3rd rounder makes sense. Didn't expect Minnesota to trade for him with lots of forwards already in their system but he'll fit right in. How do the wild still have cap? Steal trade
apollo
Surprised they didn't trade for a roster player. They can still grab the wild card from Boston.
VegasCanuck
See, if Vancouver did that, everyone would scream that we are throwing away 3rd round picks!
thejazz97
See, if Vancouver did that, everyone would scream that we are throwing away 3rd round picks! But we already are... #nextstop2017
cripplereh
not a bad deal, and I am thankful we didn't get him!
GB5
I'm so glad to see this trade, now the Canucks don't have to trade an asset or draft pick for this guy as per the rumour mill.
Ronalds.Kenins41
Minny has always had a high affinity for finish players. Like we do for Swedish players? Thomas Gradin has a lot to do with that.
DownUndaCanuck
He's worth about a 3rd round pick, that's right. Not quite 2nd round pick material (2nd rounder got us Vey, cost Garrison).
Dogbyte
I know how to use google but what the hell does that guy make? Not the recipe for Minny in my opinion. Edit: I'm probably way off base.
Canada Hockey Place
Not a lot VAN can do. No 3rd rounder. Don't have the chip to bid for any rentals. Nor should they. But speaking of 3rd round picks, the Kesler trade, ANA: Kesler, 3rd 2015 VAN: Bonino, Sbisa, 1st (McCann), 3rd 2014 traded to NYR for Dorsett ^ Why swap 3rd round picks? That was dumb. MJDDawg
See, if Vancouver did that, everyone would scream that we are throwing away 3rd round picks! We did it for years. MG gave away 3rd round picks like they were tic tacs. Minny is now where we were from 2009 to 2012.
Drakrami
So maybe this tells us what we could expect for a guy like richardson, dorsett or matthias. Maybe a late 2nd for matthias how dare you even mention trading away matthias. we shouldn't.

By the sounds of the "behind the scenes" video done on the trade, Benning wanted that third rounder to get Dorsett. To agree to swap with next year's was probably needed to close the deal. Gaudette Celly
Good for both teams, though we don't need Minnesota improving. Ahh well, at least it wasn't us trading for him. So it's good for Minnesota, but would have been bad for the Canucks?
Spoosh
I think Florida got a fair return for him. Good deal overall again. I like good hockey deals.
