CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Wow. Win for TO. Clarkson flat out sucks. Horton is effective but injuries are close to taking his career. If he's allowed back he will be a lot better than Clarkson. No idea why CBJ did this deal, at all. Its a huge IF Horton gets back....until that moment Columbus gets a solid guy in return...Clarkson has been bad but he is a better player than what he has shown in TO

Nas19
Not gonna lie I have never liked Nonis as a GM but these last few deals that he has done have impressed the crap outta me. Can't believe he just managed to get rid of Clarkson's contract.
Big Time
COLUMBUS IS INSANE! They just gave Nonis a Get out of Jail free card! They don't even have to pay Horton because it's probably all covered by insurance. Mind completely blown over why CBJ did this.
people please
David Nonis for GM of the year.

Not even about if Horton comes back or not, that would just be an added bonus. TO making cap space and getting rid of Clarkson is a win in itself. TheOgRook
Sporstnet is talkin right now that Horton is likey to be done for his career, looks like a cap dump
Tortorella's Rant
Maybe if you didn't sign players to garbage deals Nonis, you wouldn't have to trade them for crap later.

I think Clarksons contract sucks, although I think he will do a lot better on another team,I'm looking for a bounce back from him..I just think he was a bad fit in TO.. theminister
Say what you want….but the optics of this are just bad for Nonis. It just fixes his mistake before he is canned. The BJ's can't afford to be paying someone who isn't playing but the Leafs can. The MLSE Board should be looking for blood for this signing. The $$$ won over the wisdom. TOMapleLaughs
Aaron Portzline @Aportzline 8s8 seconds ago #CBJ did not have insurance on Nathan Horton, so they would have had to pay the full amount of his contract for the rest of his term. All about the bucks.

Can't believe he just managed to get rid of Clarkson's contract. This is exactly how I feel. Moving Clarkson's contract without retaining any salary is a win for Toronto. Watch him go on to become a 30 goal scorer again in Columbus though....lol
MusclePharm
Great deal for leafs. Horton will be on IR so dont need to worry about the cap. Clarkson was trash and that clears a lot of cap for a possible trade... Maybe now leafs will be more willing to retain salary on kessel.
Nuxfanabroad
What's next..trade an onerous contract for some unlucky bloke confined to a wheelchair? Everyone knows Horton is done. Should Pronger & Savard be dangled for more under-performers?
billabong
Only the leafs ownership would allow this. Horton back injury has probably ended his career but Toronto frees up 5m+ in cap space because Horton will remain on IR. Horton hates the fish bowl that's why he left Boston for cbj so I'm guessing he isn't happy
