gizmo2337
First Stanton, then Clendening. Might as well grab Erixon!
apollo
That was me apollo - I suggested picking up Pokka, or offering a 5th for Erixon when Chicago acquired Timmonen. It probably would have been necessary though, because I doubt Erixon falls to the Canucks on waivers. I'd give a 5th for him for sure. It's almost a 90% guarantee that he'll out do whoever JB drafts with the 5th. Hopefully he falls to us, but probably won't.
theminister
No way Erixon should get past Carolina. Lol...I actually thought it was Jonathan Ericsson on waivers from the headline. I'm with Oldie though, I'd give up a pick for him. Too bad though because I don't think you can trade a player on waivers. Not sure why Bowman couldn't get anything for him. Mike Vanderhoek
Have to agree with the above, don't see Erixon making it through Waivers. McMillan I'd like to see stay with the organization, good depth.
Master Mind
And why not? Free pickup when we're injury riddled, wasn't a liability when on the ice and has more NHL experience in a3rd/4th line role than anybody we had in utica. I like willie and jbs style with the call ups. IMO bringing up Shink or Jensen to play that role isn't setting them up for success. Agree that hopefully he can help Utica. I thought from the start that if he couldn't make it in Arizona, then he wouldn't be a fit here. There was no harm in giving him a chance but I'm not sure why JB thought he'd be a fit. Looking at his game log he's only been in a hand full of games since December due to injury and scratches. In the games he has played is been very low minutes. Possibly a injury that just won't go away or could be a personal issue. There's a reason his ice time was so low lately (Under 8 minutes in a couple games)

Time Lord
Claim Erixon to replace Biega for now But if 2 of our injured D-men are coming back soon, I wouldn't claim Erixon. I wouldn't send down Clendening to make room for Erixon, which is probably what would have to happen. Or trade Weber and Stanton/Sbisa for picks or in a package and claim him anyways. Well technically we only have to keep a regular out for one more game in order to claim him and not send anyone down. After the deadline the roster limit expands apparently. CRAZY_4_NAZZY
First Stanton, then Clendening. Might as well grab Erixon! Three ex-hawks? Time to reunite the rivalry and rub it in their faces for terrible asset management http://youtu.be/rOwHXGolDI8 If Erixon can do more of this than I'd gladly take him off the Hawks' hands
Nuckin Kingsly
Great, I'm happy McMillan is gone. He did nothing to warrant staying in the lineup once we get healthy. Good luck to him in his future. Doubt he will get picked off waivers tho
N7Nucks
Can't believe the McMillan era of Canucks hockey is already over. Seems just like yesterday we picked him up.

The most logical answer is roster spots and contract issues. Which would inevitably lead to a question of "IS a really big multi player trade happening soon" It's one of a dozen or more possible situations but that's possibly the most logical reason to waive such a promising young player
coastal.view
Never should have picked up McMillan in the first place. Oh well, maybe he can help out Utica. this is stupid we needed a fill in player for a couple of games he seems to be known by some in the organization if he gets picked up on waivers he cost the team very little if he is sent down his 2 way contract kicks in . he costs less and provides comets some depth for their playoff run

messier's_elbow
Guess Desjardins didn't like what he saw in McMillan. Erixon would be a nice pick up, still young. Not surprising I didn't like what I saw either.

I disagree with the idea of putting him in for a couple of games. I thought someone like Jensen should have got those. There was no risk involved, but I certainly didn't think he'd have an impact with the Canucks. Only silver lining is that he can help Utica. We claimed someone we thought we could retain regardless. He can also fill in for us if we need him. With our injuries and hope to compete for the Calder too, he's a fine fit.
