[Trade] Chris Stewart to Wild

Recommended Posts

You got that straight. It's been painful watching Stewart being showcased. There's a reason he's the league leading +/- and give-away king of Buffalo. His streaky offense is only less notable compared to his not-so-streaky dismal defense. Just painful to watch this guy, agony to listen to ppl talk him up.

It's as if ppl don't realize - Stewart has 6 ES goals for the season playing mainly in the top 6 and during this showcasing given every possible offensive opportunity. For context - Hodgson has 4 ES goals playing on the 5th line.

Mainly in the top 6?

lol

He spent the majority of the year on the 4th line with the likes of Kaleta and Deslauriers.

Only recently was he moved up just to show case him.

The guy has all the tools and more to be a top 6 power forward star. He has shown big glimpses and put up big time numbers at certain points with both the Avs and Blues.

Consistency and motivation are his flaws.

4th in total ice time (avg.16:00/g), 4th at total es (avg13:56/g) and 4th at total power-play (2:03/g) is not "maintly on 4th line with the likes of...." Only Ennis, Girgensens and Moulson have played more. And we're not even talking a distant 4th - just another 8 mins es and 1 min pp would plug Stewart down for 3rd.

So, um, yeah, you're right "lol" - I should have said top 4 ;)

Consistency and motivation are merely the causes of the many flaws to Stewart's game.

EDIT: I just looked it up to see about Stewart's "consistency" - looks like he has been consistently "unmotivated" since 2012-2013 (might explain the Blues dumping?). Let's see - 27 and in his 7th NHL season, with 4 out of thos 7 seasons not even cracking.50pts/g.... Yeah, sorry, the inconsistent glimpses of his offensive game aren't enough to say "top 6" - or to pretend he's not consistently dismal in his zone. Good riddance Stewy babe.

Surprised Boston wasn't even willing to get him if that's what it cost.

I don't get the Wild's moves, sure they are securing a playoff spot, but do they really think they can take out any of the top teams in the west? I don't think they could.
