Yes, but was the thread really necessary?

Not trying to be a mini-mod here but you could've posted this on here: http://forum.canucks.com/topic/367742-jim-benning-trade-deadline-press-conference-live/

;)

Thanks. I just wanted this thread to be dedicated to 2015/2016 draft comparisons, so it could have gone in a different forum. But thanks.

It is interesting because i was thinking the same thing, about a month ago

Sean Day

Alex DeBrincat

Jakob chychurn

and then theres two guys from the WHL with over a PPG. Cant get there names because the WIFI at school is slow AF

Sam Steel

Tyler Benson

Jake Bean

Brett Howden

Kailer Yamamoto

Nolan Patirck

Considering all the other GM's think this draft his better, Benning can either look like a genius or idoit come the 2016 draft. And considering his drafting pedigree I am not quite sure what to make of it.

But, one think for sure, I think we us under a lot of pressure when being asked that question and he might have caved into it.

Lots of good players for next years draft, Couple good defenseman that's for sure.

I've had an extra eye on D-man Jake Bean (Calgary Hitmen) while I've been watching Virtanen.

Not a big guy (6'0/175lbs) but he has great hockey sense and is very good on the PP. He's obviously not as highly-touted as the Chychruns, Days, Matthews, and even Bensons of the world, but he is a puck-moving PP specialist with tremendous hockey sense.

I wouldn't put DeBrincat with those guys. He plays with McDavid at 5-on-5 and on the top unit PP. Size isn't everything but he's 5'7 which is worth something. I do think he's a great player but I don't know if I would tout him that highly.

Let's see your source(s) for every other GM explicitly saying that "the 2015 draft is better than the 2016 draft".

What the hell is this best answer thing?

I do think that this draft is being overhyped. Not saying it isn't deep, but it's definitely overhyped.

Sometimes this forum reads like Yahoo! Answers, I think they've just decided to full on attempt to head in that direction.

Yeah I think it can be. I know for a fact Canada is going to be really deep. Many are familiar are with Jake Bean from Calgary, he's a good solid all-around player, skates well but is really good with puck movement offensively. He's projected around 30-40 for me, 30-40 this year is a guy like Meloche or Pilon who aren't as good as Bean is IMO.

I really like 2016, especially the BC guys. Remember the names Tyson Jost, Dante Fabbro and Beck Malenstyn.
