Pears
Posted this in another thread but I think this could work if Jake and Sven are good to go: Sedin - Sedin - Kassian Virtanen - Bonino - Vrbata Baertschi - Horvat - Burrows Kenins - Matthias - Hansen/Dorsett We could be a seriously deep team next year. Patrick Jane
I think Virtanen and Kassian to guys who like to throw the body around... on the same line...with Horvat
khay
lol @ Kassian on the first line. Benning tried his best to trade Kassian but couldn't find any takers. I highly doubt Kassian is on the 1st line next year. I even doubt he's a Canuck next year. No takers vs not sufficient enough offers are two different things. I'm under the impression that no one offered enough of an offer to make JB trade Kassian. I'm sure if Kassian was available for a 7th rounder, everyone would have made that trade. Kassian is already a fan favorite among many fans. If a trade is made that involves Kassian, it better be a massive overpayment by the other team or the fans will remember this for a long time. khay
I think Virtanen and Kassian to guys who like to throw the body around... on the same line...with Horvat I think Hansen is better suited as a winger for Horvat because of his speed and defensive abilities. I agree that Virtanen alongside Horvat might work well because Virtanen can do everything Kenins can do plus he is much bigger and has higher offensive skill level. The question is, is Virtanen going to be ready to play and defend against the NHL's best players? If Kenins can do it, why not Virtanen? Would be exciting to see this line next season: Virtanen-Horvat-Hansen

slappipappi
2) Trade our 1st round pick + Cassels + Sbisa's rights for the 7th overall pick. Whichever struggling team it is, they'll want youth and that's what Cassels/Sbisa are. Draft Strome. Keep him cooking in the OHL for a year, he'll be our future 1st line center (not Cassels). In what world is the Canucks 1st round pick plus some quantity get you an elite centre prospect? That struggling team will want the 7th round pick. Hunter.S-Kerouac
Next year Sedins Kass Burr ------ Vrbata Matthias Boho Hansen ---- Rich Dorsett Edler ---- Hamhuis Corrado/Clendening Sbisa? Bieksa Lack ----- Out not because I dislike these players but because they can be replaced by youth and have trade value higher than their leadership value. Bonino, Tanev, Higgins, Miller. Leaving 12m+ to spend on a 2c and 1st pairing D to support the youth movement. For the sake of example Sedins Kass Matthias Hanzal Vrbata Burr Bo Hansen Vrt Rich Dorsett Edler Fransen Hamhuis Corrado Sbisa Juice Lack Markstrom/Vet
Cocolocci
Daniel - Henrik - Kassian Matthias - Bonino - Vrbata Baertschi/Virtanen - Horvat - Burrows Kenins - Gaunce - Dorsett/Hansen Jensen, Conacher Edler - Tanev Hamhuis - Corrado/Clendening Hutton/Pedan - Bieksa Stanton, Biega Miller Lack I would like to see some young guys in our Line-Up. A good mix of Veterans and "young-guns". I'm sorry about Sbisa, but he's a weakness in our defense. Trade: Higgins Sign: Tanev, Corrado, Clendening, Stanton, Matthias, McMillan (yeah, I like him.. he play with so much passion, I would like to see him after the off-season)

Trade: Higgins Sign: Tanev, Corrado, Clendening, Stanton, Matthias, McMillan (yeah, I like him.. he play with so much passion, I would like to see him after the off-season) You really believe Pedan and Hutton will play in front of Stanton or be upgrades over sbisa? Hutton has been noted for poor defensive play at the college level, I don't see it magically becoming adequate over the summer. Stanton is a steady #6 guy. He's about as good as any #6 on any team in the league, with a few exceptions (NYR, for example) IMO. Sbisa had a rough start to the year but since January he's been pretty reliable, especially considering the increased TOI and responsibilities he was getting. If we can have him on a reasonable contract, maybe 2.5 mill on a bridge type contract as his offensive numbers leave much to be desired, then I'd be glad to have him back. Dogbyte
Higgins cannot play Center or Right Wing. Well he can play them but he's horrible at it, self admittedly to boot. I think either he or Mattias are expendable and I'd rather have Mattias by a landslide even if we pay a bit more.

Wiznac
Sedins. Sedin. Kassian Bonino. Matthias. Vrbata Baerche. Horvat. Burrows Kenins. Richardson Hansen Edler Tanev Hamhuis Beiksa Sbisa. Corrado I think Matthias is a Better center then bonino both in face offs and controlling the play. And I think Higgins is the odd man out to be moved. I think Horvat on the third line with more offensively gifted players might help generate more scoring chances
