S N Y P E R S 7
your suggestion is the worst of all time. you should feel ashamed. Sasquatch would be nice, totems would be ideal, but the guy who owns that name is a giant douche and would be unlikely to allow it's use without significant remuneration. I find this extremely offensive, as per the fact that I'm actually originally from Seattle, and this is a name that my friends and family from the area collaboratively agreed upon as being factually and identifiably ideal for a Seattle, Bellevue, and Issaquah representation. Plus, you say "your suggestion is the worst of all time. you should feel ashamed". Foolish endeavor trying to embarrass me. You are stating this as a generally accepted fact; at least say "I think". Naive, uneducated, and baseless claim. Anyhow, I was also thinking that the Seattle Sealords would also be a pretty good team name; definitely my backup plan if Stallions falls through. 1.) Nod to the Seahawks 2.) Nod to the Mariners 3.) Pretty decent representation to the traditional culture of Seattle I think a good logo would be neptune, sitting in a thone w/trident in hand. Sean Monahan
Seattle Seals? lol i actually like it, it suits the west coast/northwest lol. i feel like, similar to our orca logo, seattle will probably select a name/logo/mascot that pays some homage to the culture of the PNW. the thunderbirds (WHL) have, the seahawks to some extent as well... I currently live in seattle and would have a hard time believing any seattle native would identify with stallions in any way, nevermind have a collaborative agreement with others from the area. Please elucidate how it would be "factually and identifiably ideal for a Seattle, Bellevue, and Issaquah representation". where would that link be made? Do we have herds of wild horses roaming the area that i'm not aware of? Also, clearly you are way too sensitive to be on the internet if you took a harmless hyperbole joke personally. As far as sealords, they would be WAY too ripe for parody/ridicule from homophobic opposing team fans. I can't see that flying at all.
Jackinthebox
My original idea was to name them the Seattle Millionaires with a dollar sign as their logo. The perfect color scheme for this would be a green jersey with black pants. However, Dallas has taken this specific color scheme. I'm not sure how popular this name and logo would be anyways. For me, the color scheme is more important than anything. I wouldn't want them to copy another team whether that be the green and red of Minnesota, the blue and green of Vancouver or the green and black of Dallas. My idea is for the team to have a blue jersey, black pants and a black logo. I like the Seattle Krakens logo, I'm not sold on the name. The green with yellow trim is ok, but I would go with green pants. Ideally, a blue jersey with blacks is the way to go since no other NHL teams has that specific combination. Canuck Surfer
Washington Cougars! Its not only a stealth predator and deadly natural inhabitant. A symbolic creature ideal for a team name. But a healthy target market attached to many of the tech millionaires in the market... I'd be down sleepless in Seattle for that action in a heartbeat! WSU (eastern Washington) is already named the cougars, and there would be way too much backlash from the UW Huskies (located in seattle) fans for that to fly. Sean Monahan
With Boeing operating in Seattle, it only seems fair to me that Winnipeg surrender usage of the team name "Jets" to the Seattle franchise and Winnipeg will assume the new identity of the "Manitoba Mennonites"

avelanch
I could see the seals, seadogs (Alternate name for a seal, AND a mariner), sixgills (the largest hexanchoid shark in the world, and native to the puget sound), as all being valid options in addition to the sasquatch. Isn't WaSU the cougars as well? Edit: my bad, thought you said EWU was the cougars. I'll read a little more carefully next time lol

avelanch
The Seattle Sixgills. Are you serious? if there wasn't already the San Jose Sharks, it would be an option. it's a huge deep sea shark that people actively try to fish for in the puget sound. it's certainly better than the stallions. avelanch
Luckily I bet plenty of people aren't aware that there was ever a WNBA franchise... that's also true, and it was the ABL, not the WNBA. though they advertized a whole lot during those 2 years so the name may sound vaguely familiar to people. Also, apparently there is an existing Seattle Reign FC team playing in the NWSL right now... I didn't even know that existed.
