California times three - make it or break it!?

We're in for three straight games against all the tough California teams; SJ, ANA and LA.

Two of them we're in a race for a playoff spot. (SJ & LA)

For every loss/win there's not 2 points at stake, but 4, since we're so close and in the same division.

I'd say we need at least 4 points (out of the 6) to get us to the playoffs. Any less and it means that we've lost our spot and it will be very hard to reclaim it.

What do you guys think? Is it a make it or break it stretch of games? (Can we rise again if we lose all three?)

How many points do we need?

It seems that way. With how little games are left and what kind of competition we face moving forwards, these next 3 games are huge. It won't be completely over if we fail through this stretch though, but it will be very difficult to climb out of. After facing LA we still have to face them another 2 times before season's end.

The only weakish teams that we face coming up are Toronto, Columbus, Arizona, Colorado, Dallas, Arizona again, and Edmonton. That depends on your opinion if you think Colorado, Columbus, Dallas etc are weak. Any of these teams can still beat us, especially seeing the Arizona game on Thursday.

If we win all 3 I think the embarassment of the Coyotes and Sabres losses are completely washed away. I'd be happy to go 2-1 as well, but we can't keep losing to the Sharks and Kings because they're likely going to be our first round matchup. One of them is horrible on the road, the other is pretty average on their home ice so we have to be able to exploit that, especially in a 7 game series.

I think so. We need some points against the Cali teams. We have a few Metro and Central div games, where we've fair better. I'm dreading needing just a point or two in our last two games to get in, and having to face the Yotes and Oilers.

I'm not trying to be negative , but I don't believe this team is going to win a cup. Id almost lean towards hoping they don't the playoffs at all then for them to make it and not go all the way

I would rather get a better pick then go one round just to get our young guys playoff experience. I think a better pick is more helpful overall

If ever there was a litmus test for this team, this would be it. If they want it (at all), this is the time to go after it. If they're sitting back, even momentarily at this point, it'll fizzle up and they will once again miss the playoffs. Which would be awful...it's FAR too depressing watching other teams battle in post season. They'd better get there.

In the Jekyll and Hyde season we've had, I just don't know. I want to be optimistic and know they are capable, it's just whether or not they arrive game ready for the full cycle. No "on the road" excuses...you dig deep and consider these the playoffs. Starting now.

GO CANUCKS GO...I'LL BRING MY A CHEERING GAME. JUMPING ON THE COUCH LIKE TOM CRUISE STUFF.

^ Lol I like it!

I usually just leap off the couch with a large "F yeah!", pace around for a few seconds, and then sit back down.

This California swing is really a must win though.

Like the OP said, the only game we can afford to lose is against Anaheim.

So we're going to have to come together as a team now more than ever and pull out some wins.

LOL :towel: Nice post!

And yes, this season is weird... so anything, or dare I say EVERYTHING... might happen. (Or not...)

Go NUCKS!!

PS To go for a pick when you'll end upp around 10th-16th isn't that much better than a no 20 or whatever... some guys put to much faith in the picks. Remember, it's still a big lottery of who's turning out good, excellent, or just a bust. (Picks no 1-3, fine, they're probably legit, but the rest... a lottery...)

Thursday night is the most important game IMO. The Kings have had our number the last few years and we really need to break the mold, especially at home.

Get to the front of the net, finish our hits and put shots on net. Beat LA at their game.

Oh boy!, the Sharks have won 2 games in a row and people have them as playoff bound.

Their record over the last 10 games is 4-5-1

They lit up our backup to the backup goalie, 3 goals on 4 shots in the first 5 minutes

The Sharks are the biggest choke artists in the history of the NHL, It is legendary.

The Sharks are so fragile, one loss and the team will completely shatter, they will not make the playoffs,

their team will be blown up from top to bottom for next season.

Unfortunately, these next 3 games have become crucial to a playoff spot because of the team's disturbing lack kf effort in games they could have and shiuld have won comfortably.

Now...even if they play hard and well, the odds are, they will be fortunate to get 2 or 3 points and will hardly pull away from those chasing them.

They need to bring it every game, every period and every shift if they are going to have a chance of making it. Based o their play over the past month and a half, that appears very unlikely

I fear we wi be scoreboard watching soon in the hope that one or more of the teams chasing them messes up and allows the Nucks to slip in to the playoffs undeservedly.
