Nathan MacKinnon can still skate circles around him. And throw him off the puck. Not to say a great athlete cant wash out. See Semin. Or let the life get to themselves and let everyone else down. See Mike Richards. But there are absolutely guys who stand shoulders above on ability. If Vey keeps working hard > he can probably gain enough agility and strength to keep a job, play a role. Tanner Glass works hard. He's carved out a 500 game career. In rare cases, some guys become elite without gifts of speed and strength. See Adam Oates. Or even the Sedins. Although the strength they have for holding off most guys is astounding? Chara & company still shut them down. Only a small percentage of NHL D have the agility to deal with Kuznetsov. Also the power to handle Ovechkin on the same shift. Its why they score at will. Chychrun has that potential. I could have mentioned Seguin & Benn in our conference. I see it as compelling. I think if you want to compare things, at least compare Apples to apples and not No. 1 OA picks to 4th rounders. Take two guys that went very close in the draft like Bennett and Virtanen. Virtanen is bigger, stronger and faster - most would say he's the better athlete. Bennett on the other hand is a pit bull with work ethic off the charts...which guy would you take? That would give us 9th 35th and 39th I'd do it if I thought I could get the guy I'd take at 5 at 9. Would I do it to take a lesser player, likely no

When you're in the Jake Virtanen thread you complain how Virtanen has low 'hockey iq'. When you USED to go to the Brock Boeser thread, you would complain about how we should have picked Travis Konecny. But I don't see you in that thread because Boeser has exceeded expectations. When you visit any other prospects thread, it's always negative like "Another two-way center who's small (Zhukenov)", "Blah blah our team is thrash", etc. If you aren't doing that, and then you're shifting gears to attacking Willie and management. And always in the GDT you're finding ways to diss the Nucks when they do something good for example that goal late in the 1st PRD tonight where Horvat and Dorsett were cycling the puck and Dorsett got the shot off and Etem deflected it. And yet you still somehow say that we aren't good down the boards and that we 'just got lucky' man stfu. The only positive thing I've ever heard about anything Nucks related is Bobby Sanguinetti who's not even with us anymore. That's it. Everything else you write in these boards is negative. You're absolutely contentious sometimes. I don't want you to ignore this because I know 100% you will. Explain to me (or us) why the hell you're always negative? I'll be honest, sometimes what you say I agree but majority it's just bs coming out of your mouth.

We are going to miss out on a potential stud in the top 3 okay cool but now if they continue this streak we will lose Chyrchrun also.

THey are purely skilled and this is what our lack will be in the future.

two drink minimum
Chychrun has to be our guy. Unless we pick 1st oa of course. The Canucks need a winger like Baggins needs another hole in his head. Sure the Finns are ranked above any of the D prospect but that doesn't fit the teams needs

Bruce Boudreau
Let's hope the Canucks can stop acting like goofs and lose a couple before closing out with a home ice win. There is still hope for Dubois,Tkachuk, Nylander, or Juolevi. Edmonton is taking Chychrun if they don't get top 3 so that is what is what... I also quoted Oates who was undrafted and Sedins who's excellence is based less on sheer athleticism than most. I get your point. Bennet plays the game harder which is a fair point. But not directly relative. Chychrun also plays the game hard. Bennett, pull ups aside, has his own obvious attributes Jake does not. Balance off the charts. Quick like a cat, lateral motion that lets him jump from side to side. All while dangling with hands Jake does not have.
R3aL
Wed have to win all three of our games remaining and Buffalo Zona would have to lose all three for us to drop any further than 6th so that's a good thing. looks like we will be going into the lotto at worst at 6th slot and at best 3rd slot. not bad places to be with the new lotto odds, nice because have a decent chance at rising into top three selections and a better chance of not being pushed further back. How devastating would it be to finish bottom three and not get a top 3 pick.. And we we are guaranteed a player that will make all of us on the board happy from 4-6. So im goooood.
