Did you see that the Russian entire U18 team has been banned for failing drug tests and are now sending their U17 team instead. Wow!

Canucks likely won't trade Matthews if they get him. He is a 1C to go along with Demko. It only leaves a 1D prospect to acquire.

ya that's crazy, they have been watching too much rocky 4. Sergachev is going to be on the team now though so we will see how he does.

I know you've stated it right here clearly, but its so obvious the success of any of these lines are going to be due largely to Boeser. IMO. With the exclusion of that hypothetical Laine line Boeser is probably potting most of the goals on these lines.

Im still so ecstatic to have Brock, even after the honey moon.

Yes he is a special player and fascinating prospect.  I think to have any of these line combos would be insane especially the first three, but if you had to choose one which would it be?

I hope Demko signs with us.  If not it would send this franchise back even further:(

I just ran the draft simulator 100 times and this came out on the 100th pull:

Winners

First

Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton Oilers

Second

Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver Canucks

Third

Winnipeg Jets

Winnipeg Jets

We finished in the top 3 42 times only team to do better was T.O with 53.  Edm finished 41 times.

We finshed 1st 11 times, 2nd 15 times, and 3 16 times.

Although the odds chart gives us a 33% chance to finish top 3 I think, in this scenario we did better with 42%

I think this would be an incredible draft order for us.  In case EDM skips on AM and takes Laine we get Matthews either way we can't go wrong.

So Laine with another goal today at the last minute of the game against Kärpät in the playoffs.

His shot is simply amazing, he's going to beat a lot of NHL goaltenders with that one.

Big game tonight, would be huge to finish bottom 3 going into the lottery. Tough game for Columbus, can't really expect them to win against the Hawks.

I thought the goalie was way out of position.

GM's say a lot of things

Yeah and most of it is usually true.

Particularly when they say they are not trading someone.

Makes sense to. They don't need to overpay Matthews as their deepest pool prospect wise is at center. Look at my post earlier pointing that out and the fact that their defense pool is weak.

Yeah. I don't how he did it... but he did it anyway

Are you kidding me? Don't act like you know the rules when you clearly don't.

What's even more frustrating than people who don't know the tie-breaker rules after 6 years are the people who make up their own rules and assume they're right.

if we get 1OA we keep it for sure, we sign 1-2 wingers and 1 d man in the offseason and we are a playoff team that could probably win a round. I say we go after Lucic and Ladd, make this team heavy for once, those two along with a developing virtanen and hornet would make our future top 6 pretty heavy.

Sedin Sedin Hansen

Lucic Horvat Ladd

Beartschi Matthews Sutter

Etem Granlund Dorsette

Gaunce

McCann, Virtanen in the A

burrows, higgins, prust, vrbata - gone.

Rodin and Larsen are the 2 European wild cards. They need a spot to show what they can do at this level.

I don't know about everyone but it seems we know much more about the two Finn's than Mathews who seems to be an unknown

Well Matthews isn't playing any hockey right now, his season with Zürich is done while both Puljujarvi and Laine are in the middle of the heat in the Finnish-playoffs. Matthews is also pretty much the undisputed number 1, we all know how great of a player he is and that he's going to be a difference maker for whatever team gets him. Unless the Oilers gets 1st overall yet again, i believe there's absolutely no doubt that Matthews goes 1st overall. I think Laine could be a dark horse for 1st overall if the Oilers gets the pick and decides to keep it, their center-depth is just ridiculous, makes me mad just thinking about it.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

We finished 28th (3rd last) so we have a 34.2% chance of picking top 3 and a 65.8% of picking 4, 5, or 6. With our most likely selection being 5th at 37.81% odds. So we should most likely be debating the 5th overall selection right? Moreover, we are least likely to pick 3rd overall with 11.26%.
