So,

Who'd be down for trading hansen and a 3rd to move in to the later 1st round?

If Fabbro is still available (think he will be gone in the teen-range) then i wouldn't mind. McAvoy would also be interesting. I like Hansen, he's good and all, especially for his contract. But he's replaceable, especially if we get Dubois/Tkachuk with our 1st pick. Short-term it might be harder to replace him, but not long-term.

Foppa's clearly drunk. Just be thankful my efforts kept him largely contained in this one thread :P

I may be drunk, but you're the one stating something in one thread then claiming you didn't in this thread....Caught red handed twice in the same day.... ^_^  But all is good.

Yes you did I quoted you word for word but some how you are having troubles understand...talk about reading comprehension...

"5th OA gets them the a quality winger prospect they DESPERATELY need."

"Tkachuck to me looks like #3-#4 forward. Borderline 1st/2nd liner."

"I didn't say call Severson a future #2"

Oh wait yes you did...

"I'm sold on Severson personally. Future #2 IMO."

Seriously, I said don't go full kindergarten and you just did it.  Sorry JR but you're out to lunch.  You pulled the typical we don't need him because he's only X, them you flip it to say X is the exact reason why another team is willing to pay a big price... Very rookie mistake. Then instead of acknowledging the argument you pretend to ignore them and say it didn't happen.  Take the night off, come back fresh tomorrow...You'll pull out of it.

Tkachuk has great hands but his skating is definitely an issue. He doesn't seem to have that separation speed right now.

Bo worked on it, so you'd think Tkachuk could. Although it's tough to think such a high pick should need to work on his skating. Alternatively the same has been said about Laine so it's not a complete shock.

He's not really a guy on the rush player though.  He's more like a Sedin.  He does his best work below the dots.  Plus, he's a real hard nosed guy.

Well he's gonna need to work on his skating either way. I saw him getting knocked down quite a bit this game.

He's gonna have to be stronger on his skates if he wants to be a power forward at the next level.

Not sure if it has to do with anything, but he looks very injured

Oh, I see.  Yes, certainly most young guys need to work on ankle strength, especially the heavier guys.

Lol a 3/4 forward IS a quality forward. I never denied the Severson quote lol.

I think YOU need to take the night off

I'm not really a fan of the trading Edler idea.

Especially if it includes taking on a cap dump and giving up pick #33 aswell as another decent prospect in either Grenier or Brisebois to make it happen.

The player you will draft at #9 you HOPE will become as good as an Edler caliber player.

Edler for Emelin & the Pick seems more than fair to me.

Personally I think MTL should be adding another piece not us. But even then I think the goal has to be making the playoffs next year and our biggest weakness is definitely defense so I don't see how trading a top pairing defenseman makes sense for us right now.

As nice as another 1st round pick would be, I don't know that this is the right draft or the right time to be making a deal where we have to add to Alex Edler to get it.

There is no way the Devils are giving up a future top pairing RHD to move up 6 spots. Sbisa is also a cap dump. He is overpaid for what he brings something a budget conscious Devils will not want.

If Severson were available the Oilers would swoop in and blow that offer out of the water.

More like Eberle or RNH in my opinion.

Jersey is usually a pretty shrewd trading partner.  I really don't see them giving up a young talented D for Eberle or Nuge.

I mean would we give up Tanev for one of those two?

why would we give up Tanev. we already have defensive issues to begin with. and it's a divisional rival. no way.

Its worth noting the circumstances are different.

We put ourselves in a hole trading a D like Tanev. We have no one, and I mean no one to replace him on the right side of our D. Even if we got a UFA RHD, we still could not afford to trade Tanev. And while Nuge or Eberle might be an upgrade on what we have? We do have good young players in the their positions.

Jersey on the other hand has several good young D. And are starving for good young forwards to play with Zacha when he arrives. Plus there is no division rivalry to bite you in the ass. Make Edmonton a bit too good for us to get past in the play off's anytime in the next 3 or 4 years.

Its a deal Jersey should explore. And not one structured very smartly for us.
