Who will be his Tom Brady?" Just a ridiculous take on Tkachuk
saucypass
Love the Domi proposals. I think with Edler or whatever defenseman involved in the trade for Domi, it would make sense as the Coyotes are getting a polished veteran defender in return. Honestly, the only thing Domi doesn't have is size. Otherwise the dude is the complete package.

Getting Domi without losing the #5 would be incredible.

Pedan + 5th overall for Domi + 53rd Edler + Hansen + Brisebois to MTL for Markov + 9th overall + 45th overall Sbisa (retain 25%) + Grenier + 64th to Bos for 29th End up with Domi and the 9th, 29th 45th, and 53rd Without UFA's we'd still have Danny-Hank-Sutter Domi-Horvat-Rodin Baer-Granlund-Virtanen Etem Gaunce Dorsett Hamhuis Tanev Hutton Guddy Markov Tryamkin But we'd have enough space to go after an Okposo, Brouwer or an Erkisson. I've always thought we could dangle Sbisa around. So what I would propose would be... 5th, 64th, Sbisa, Edler, Grenier Domi, 7th, 20th

Going back to that draft I would still take him at 6 over anyone else that was available. I am willing to be patient and watch him develop into the player he should be. I do agree we will a mix of pure skill and 2 way players. I will say though I am not thinking too highly of the possibility of drafting Logan Brown. .. I like Jake, but looking back at the 2014 and our team needs now (this is not fair to Jake or Jim Benning btw) I don't draft Virtanen at 6. If we keep the pick at #5 and pick Dubois or Tkachuk our first line soon is: Dubois/Tkachuk-Nylander-Boeser. This line is dymanic with tonnes of skill, big wingers, one who is a two way/sniper (Boeser), one who is a a grubby predatory power forward with skill in Dubois, and an elite level skill distributor in Nyander who can score himself (as much as I don't like his face!) L1 Dubois-Nylander-Boeser (Nylander/Dubois might even swap if Dubois actually translates to a #1C, doubt it personally) L2 Baert-Horvat-? is superior to L1 Dubois-?-Boeser L2 Baert-Horvat-Virtanen That is my take on it. I also take Fleury over Virtanen. I think Nylander QB's our PP from the point, which we really need. No Logan Brown, totally agree with you. I honestly have massive doubts about all the c's in this draft. I was never one for drafting Nylander in 2014, I was wrong, doesn't mean I'm not a fan of Jake though. Dubois is far from finished developing his skill, which is already very good at 17. Perhaps but Dubois skillset appears to be geared more towards a power forward rather than high end playmaking . chickenman92
A couple things: - Why all this talk about the Yotes wanting Tkachuk? Everything I've heard/read says they want a defenceman and they'll likely get first crack at the big three D with the 7th pick. - We'll also start to hear Buffalo being very interested in Vancouver's pick as they are also rumoured to be wanting a D. In my opinion, a Sabres/Canucks swap is more likely than a Coyotes/Canucks swap. - Benning is on record as wanting a young top-6 forward and a 2nd rd pick for the 5th overall pick. I wonder what his definition of "young top-6" is? Is it a guy that is a top-6 guy right now? Or is it a player that might develop into a top-6 in a year or two? - And last but not least, if the Canucks and Sabres do hook up on a deal, my guess is Benning will be very interested in getting Girgensons in the trade. I wonder if Benning considers him a "young top-6"? Maybe Girgensons and No. 8 for No. 5 and a 2017 2nd rd pick?

If Buffalo want's our #5, it better have something to do with Reinhart. #5, Guance, Sbisa, 2017 2nd for Reinhart Buffalo gets a dman at 8 already, if they are wanting a specific D, they would want Calgary's pick. If they want our #5, it's because they want a winger to grow up with eichel...that's Tkachuk/Dubois. If the Yotes want D, we draft Tkachuk (if avail) Edler, #5 Domi, 20th, 53rd They get a needed Dman and their hometown boy. We get a #1 LW and picks
Sean Monahan
@ForsbergTheGreat you think benson is available at 53? and @chickenman92 doesn't that deal sound a bit lopsided in our favour? Unless Girgenson's stock has taken a hit. I can only imagine the b*tching and moaning from CDC (and particularly desi) about "another two way grinder" lol. I've always been a fan of Girgenson myself though.

I've seen mocks were he's been in the 3rd round. at 53 theres a number of teams that have only one pick before that. Taking it on a player that got injured is somewhat risky. I could see a team that has multiple picks taking him before though.

Personally, I wouldn't even consider Girgensons and a 2nd for No. 5, but I think he could be use to trade up three places if Vancouver sent something back Buffalo's way. I'd say Gaunce or a 2nd would balance it out.

He's got huge steal potential if he can shake his injury bug.

Seems fair to me That's a tough question. I'd say he's worth a 28-35 type pick. So I'd value him as a real late 1st or real early 2nd. In all honesty, I think tossing in Vancouver's 3rd evens things out, but I wouldn't want to give up another pick in this year's draft, which is why I'd be willing to give up a 2nd next year in exchange for Buffalo waiting a year.
