Canuck Surfer
9 hours ago, DeltaSwede said: I have Chychrun ahead of him but Joulevi and Dubois ahead of him is a big stretch. Nylander looks like a Nicklas Bäckström in the making. Joulevi and Dubois will be solid NHLers, Nylander has the potential to be a great one. I did not watch all the Swedish games; but Kempe, Aho and Lindblom (with Nylanders brother injured) made up the top line for Sweden. Nylander made good plays but did not drive the play. That's different than Backstrom (who is also a pivot). Juolevi, who I liked before the tourney, was easily Finland's best D. No doubt the big 3 added some finish (pun intended) but much started with this D hauling the puck up ice or cracking off tape to tape passes to start the rush. He also controlled a lot of the PP and even 5 on 5 play from the blue line. I'm an amateur, but that was my observation.

As sits right now, Sharks sit with the 5th overall pick. They have a 8.5% chance of drafting 1st overall, and a strong possibility to draft top 3, (if the season we're to end today) The only reason I want to point this out, is that Sharks traded their first round pick in 2016 for a 25 year old goalie with less than 35 NHL games. Not a nock on Jones, but a steal for the bruins, who essentially got a potential top 5, 2016 pick and a 13th overall in 2015 for a pending UFA, Lucic (who also had a off year). funkyfresh
I know he had a good tournament but Juolevi is getting over-hyped. Not a top 10 pick. In fact, the top defensemen in this draft are much weaker than last year which had Hanifin, Provorov, and Werenski. Unless it is Chychrun, I take a forward in the top 10.
