"The Bull" was the driving force imo - Moen and Niedermayer were good complimentary pieces - but without Pahlsson at the center of it, it's not the same line. You could sub about 100 depth wingers for those guys and have a comparable force, but Sammi was special. I think his true value / formidable shutdown abilities are/were lost on a lot of casual observers. It's an interesting standard to measure up to though. If Bo can become the stone wall that Pahlsson was - and continue to forge his upside - he'll be a real force. But he's unlikely to remain a depth center... No reason Kenins can't become a player of Moen's quality - and he is likely to remain in the bottom 6. Matthias and Dorsett imo are comparable talents to Niedermayer. Anyhow, I think the point is that you need that kind of quality in your bottom six if you really want to compete in May and June. GMJB / (MG) are/were certainly on the right track.
