The Turks had never fracked with australia , it had only existed as a country for 14 years. The Gallipoli campaign was churchills pet project , something the british had wanted to do since the crusades , sail up the dardenelle's, land , invade and conquer constantinople/istanbul.

Australians had no right or reason to be there , turkey had done nothing to us. The forebears of many of those soldiers were sent to australia for stealing a loaf of bread or poaching a dear , now the british expect the descandants of those "criminals " to die in a conflict 'for king and country" that had nothing to do with them , invading a muslim country that had not fracked with them like western nations had done for centuries.

The british did not even trust the australians to behave in a civilised manner , that's why they were sent to the middle east rather than europe , they thought the aussies would behave like animals and many of them proved the british correct in the back-streets of cairo.

So if australians were sent to israel to invade and kill israeli's that would not be illegal either according to you.

It's because of people like you that find any justification they can for sending others to die that our species keep fighting these pointless wars/conflicts.

As I have stated all countries frack with others , what you have posted does not change the fact the arabs have helped jews for thousands of years , from the time of the babylonian empire right up until the time of their greatest need, the holocaust.

You keep on ignoring the fact that bushs axis of evil comments contributed to the current political situation , let me remind you of some comments i have already posted from a NY times opinion piece that you seem to keep on ingnoring

His comment has clearly strengthened the hand of the hard-liners and forced reformers to prove their patriotism by denouncing the United States

Yesterday's marches were especially disheartening because they offered such a stark contrast to demonstrations of recent months that had a distinctly anti-clerical, pro-Western tinge. Soccer fans shouted, ''Death to the mullahs,'' and teachers, traditionally among the most loyal of civil servants, shouted: ''Twenty-three years have passed! What has happened to justice? Shame on you!'' Now it seems that Iranians feel obliged to focus not on internal reform but on the United States.

The real victims of bush's axis of evil comments are the iranian people ,their society was starting to change and become more " western" and free , his comments set back democracy by decades.

You know that if you repeat a lie often enough people will believe it ,thats why you keep up the zionist rhetoric on this board isn't it hasbarat.

Ugh..

You really need to update your rhetoric. Obama, who has the softest policy towards Iran ever, has been in power for almost 2 full terms now...guess what...it's made no difference.

The real power in Iran are the clerics. The Ayatollah khamenei is the Supreme Leader, and he's been in power since 1989. His goals haven't changed: strengthen the islamic government in Iran and spread Shiite Islam outside of Iran.

He cannot be reasoned with. He won't respond to concessions. The final straw for, the previous president, Ahmadinejad was when several clerics who were his allies, were accused of being wizards who had conjured up genies:

Australia didn't have a lot of choice in WW1, much like Canada, when Britian declared war, as part of the British Empire they were involved automatically, the idea of Gallipoli was to open up the Dardanelles providing a link with Russia, knock Turkey as well as Bulgaria out of the war and provide another front to draw German troops away from the western front in France. Unfortunately the incompetence of British command in WW1 seemed to have no limits, after the Anzacs were slaughtered there, they decided to waste most of thier own army as well as the Canadian corps at the Somme. After that Canada demanded its troops fight under its own commanders, Sir Arthur Currie fought British commad as much as the Germans.

Mate WW1 was european nations fighting over the same bits of land like they have always done just on a grander scale.

It's all just a little bit of history repeating

The stupidity of my felllow country men in voluntarily joining that fight just illustrates the validity of the satrapi quote i have as my sig.

When the diggers ,coloquial name for aussie soldiers, came home they told people do not celebrate them or what they did , they went to war thinking they would find honour and glory instead they found intense suffering , pain and death.

Did we listen , no , we are so desperate as a nation for any sort of hiistory that we now celebrate this as some sort of victory , thousands of aussie's go to gallipoli cove every year and the myth of that miltary action has blown out of all proportions.

Why do you think our species keeps on making the same mistakes over and over , it is because we do not admit that we make/made mistakes in the first place.

I wonder how aussies would feel if the japanese wanted to come to darwin and celebrate the bombing of that city and the invasion force that was stopped in the coral sea ?

I have stated facts Taxi .

As usual you have responded with BS israeli propaghanda.

Are you being deliberately obtuse ?

Why do you think the hardline clerics now have the power they do ? Bush's comments have a lot to do with that .

For the 3rd time , it might permeate through this time

His comment has clearly strengthened the hand of the hard-liners and forced reformers to prove their patriotism by denouncing the United States

If that idiot son of an asshole had not come out with his aixis of evil comments iran would very probably be a more democratic society .

It is obvious that israel wants the rest of the world to view iran as a bogey-man , that is why they prodded the US/ bush into making those comments.

That's on opinion peace, and it's outdated... Once again the actual facts are these. The same Ayatollah has been in power through several presidents and the results have been the same. The religious leaders in Iran have their agenda. It's been shown that it makes no difference what foreign policy America takes.

Edit... you're relying on an opinion piece from 2002... that was well before the 2009 marches in Iran that were violently oppressed by the religious authorities.

Do you really believe that people are buying your BS .

2002 was when those comments were made and the results of those comments can be seen in 2009 and in irans society today.

Please keep posting , you are actually helping me prove my point.

The world is losing patience with the israeli's taxi, the holocaust and anti -semite cards have been played out , more nations are calling out israel on their illegal settlements and their inability to provide leaders that do more than just espouse a 2 state solution.

You're delusional. Israel has never been doing better. The nations around it are falling into a religious abyss.

Iran is purposely spreading this chaos, but is too short sited to realize the effect it will have on Iran.

Amen brother..

The tyranny has gone on for a long enough..

Saudi Arabia, Gulf States, Israel, and Iran really need to get their sh't together already...

The US and Western countries are literally taken advantage of the turmoil and essentially taking candy from the baby..

You're delusional. Israel has never been doing better. The nations around it are falling into a religious abyss.

What about Saudi Arabia? One of the biggest sponsors of state terrorism..

Why is that we always condemn Iran, but never the gulf states or Saudi Arabia?

They have the same agenda as Iran which is to spread/influence their form of Islam across the Middle East.

Would anyone be interested in coming on the podcast I'm starting to talk about topics such as this? Including other current events and global conflicts?

Are you some expert or something lol?

I don't think you should do a podcast unless you visited the region or have some sort of inside sources..

It's because they have the oil. We have to concede something.

Iran has oil too.. only 4th behind to Saudi Arabia in proven oil reserves.

Since this chart is three years old interesting enough Venezuela now has more oils reserves than Saudi Arabia..

Breaking news: the US is sending troops to Venezuela to help fight guerrilla warfare!

Lots of people condemn Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is probably worse than Iran when it comes to spreading violent religion. They've spent the last 80 years doing so. They're responsible for Al-Queda, ISIS, etc...

158 nations have supported the UN in condemning israels illegal settlements, if that is doing better than ever I wonder what you think is doing bad.

" The nations around it falling into a religous abyss " does not make israel safer , it actually threatens isreals security , so again i have to question your statement , israel has never been doing better.

Uhh, China holds less than 10% of the US debt. Hardly "owned by China".

And he doesn't need to worry about paying it off. The debt is in US currency, with inflation it's nothing but a matter of time before the $1.2 trillion China holds is worth much less than that.

Uhh, China is the larger single foreign creditor of the US.

Okay, here's the scoop according to Forbes.

34.4% of all American debt is foreign. 7.2% of America's debt (domestic and foreign) is owned by China, while 7% is owned by Japan.

Being that that 34.4% equates to (as of right now) $6.271tn, that's still a heck of a whole lot of money.

China would receive over $438bn, and Japan would receive a (relatively) tiny bit less. That's insane.

Their debt is massive. Insurmountable really. Remember the debt ticker that just spins out of control. Maybe Senator Cruz can fix it...

The debt clock doesn't soon anymore, it jumps

And in the process the Arab league and their voting block have made the UN irrelevant.

The UN was supposed to protect people. Instead the Arab/Muslim obsession with Israel has made it totally ineffectual. We have multiple motions absorbs against Israel every year. Meanwhile the Saudis and Iranians have turned Syria into their middle ages style battlefront for their Shia/Sunni was, killing hundreds of thousands.

We all know why the UN was set up: in the distances of time after the failure of 'The League of Nations' in preventing a second world war, nations wanted a supranational organisation which could actually do something about rogue states and threats to international peace and security.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2097280/Whats-point-UN.html#ixzz3VJoryO2B

Obviously, they haven't lived up to their duties if ISIS is running around like a spoiled child.

What's the UN going to do about it? Are they going to sit in boardrooms planning out strategies for months on end or are they going to do something?
