Orka
Wondering who everyone thinks our most valuable player has been as the regular season is winding down. Unfortunately I could only add 20 selections so if the player you like the most as most valuable is not on the list please comment your choice... remember, it's not about who has scored the most or made the prettiest plays: it's the player that has meant the most to our team and our success. My vote would have to be Chris Tanev, the most sound defensive player on our team in my opinion.. He plays a style of game that allows Edler to be more aggressive offensively and seems to always make the smart play. Cheers
BanTSN
I have a feeling they'll give it to our all-star Radim Vrbata this season.
saucypass
It's gotta be Henrik imo.
BCNeil
It will be Henrik. Not that he has had a super incredible season. Just nobody has done better. Kind of like in boxing, the champ wins close decisions.
brownky
I picked Double D. Hits, scores, passes, works his ass off each and every shift for every game, will give it all for his teammates and never, ever backs down. That's what the Cyclone Taylor represents. He's my pick. -AJ-
Hard to single out one man. It's really been a team effort this year. If I had to pick the one who is most responsible though, it'd probably be Hank.
BanTSN
Edler is also having a noteworthy season.
The Bookie
Sedins are the only ones who have played every single game, so that alone makes them the favorites (and Henrik seems to win tiebreakers). Edler & Tanev are the only true challengers imo. Hansen would be a dark horse as he's played all but one game, and that was after literally passing out on the bench, but I'm a bit biased there. Mathew Barzal
Edler is also having a noteworthy season. I'd go with him. Our offence hasn't been carried in any which way by any player, hence the four line rolling. Each line has controlled play occasionally, but not with consistency. Edler on the other hand has been a constant staple of calm on the back end and has literally done it all for us this season. The big, mean body rubbing the opposition out along the boards, the seeing eye breakout passes, and none of the terrible turnovers from last season. We've needed him especially since Hamhuis was hurt and has looked shaky to say the least this year, along with Bieksa looking like he's noticeably regressed. Eddy gets my vote! Sean Monahan
I think henrik will, mostly because I think he's the most irreplaceable player on the roster. We've seen the d core step up when the injury bug hit and tide the storm but if we went without hank for a stretch of time we'd be hooped IMO. I think Bo is a bit of a dark horse too. His emergence seemed to coincide with the team's emergence from a bit of a mid-season funk when they looked very flat compared to early on. That being said, it's tough to say who's really driving that line as an argument can be made for all 3 parts. Henrik consistently drives his line offensively and does a better job of making his teammates on the ice better than daniel does, which is part of what separates the two on the ice. hockeyville88
The fact that there are so many candidates is fantastic. My vote would be Vrbata. Or maybe Lack. If he hadn't played so well after Miller got hurt we could have fallen out of a playoff spot easily
goblix
Vrbata would be my pick. Plays anywhere and makes everyone more productive. Easily the most consistent throughout the whole year
Baer.
Vrbata should get it, without him I doubt the nucks would be second in the pacific division.
Guest Dasein
Sedins - had bodies dropping like flies but still are top 30 in the league and has this team in a playoff position But it'll probably be Vrbata for being the only 30 goal scorer
MoneypuckOverlord
Vrbatta or Henrik Sedin.
The Bookie
Lack is an interesting suggestion I hadn't considered. I don't know if you can make the case that he's most important over the entire season though. Vrbata seems more of a Hume (unsung hero) candidate to me, which is odd for an all-star selection, but he's just so damned quiet in every way. I don't know, are these awarded through fan votes or from within the team? That makes a huge difference. going from the 2013 winners http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=667680 it's a fan vote and these are my predictions: ♣ Cyclone Taylor - "Most Valuable Player": Henrik Sedin ♣ Walter (Babe) Pratt - "Best Defenceman": Alex Edler ♣ Most Exciting Player: Bo Horvat ♣ Fred J. Hume - "Unsung Hero ": Eddie Lack
Guest Dasein
MVP - Henrik or Daniel Best Defenseman - Edler Most Exciting - Vrbata (have you seen some of the goals this guy scored?) And Unsung Hero has to go to Dorsett imo
HC20.0
I'm gonna say Edler with very tight competition. The way he's rebounded has brought stability to a horrible defense. Him and Tanev together have worked their asses off to shut down the opposition. They've carried the D on their backs with both injuries and regression to our other defenders. Either one deserves it, but I'm choosing Edler just because of the turn around his career has had in one year.

He had a rough patch in the middle of the season, but has since picked it up. However, despite this, I'd still noticed people ragging on his play. I'd say he's under-appreciated.
