A post equally as offensive as it is stupid.

That...

The only thing I don't support Germany on is lecturing human rights.. and yes I know they're a liberal democracy yadada

but IMO it's still way too soon..

The whole Islamophobia/anti-immigration isn't helping either..

You made a post like this months ago.

For ease of discussion, we'll say that human rights violations started with Hitler rising to power and becoming "Mein Fuhrer". We'll loosely say that it happened in the 30's, but really, it could be argued that it started after the end of WW1.

It's been nearly 90 years since then, comparatively.

What human rights violations have had happened between then with the US, in no particular order?

- CIA (countless; known for its infamous work in the 60s, but has been prolific even until recently - exposed by Snowden; illegal wiretaps, overarching administration with no oversight). Government claims not to know anything.

- Guantanamo Bay

- Patriot Act

Those three alone are broad topics that could be the subject of a university thesis.

What human rights violations has Germany been through since Hitler?

Yeah, Germany has every right to call out the human rights violations.
