andrewolydam Posted March 20, 2015 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Benning should look at trading for Carl hagelin in the off season, I've done the math and there is no way the rangers keep hagelin as Derek stepan will be making 5 mill for sure. To keep their team competitive next year the rangers will want a roster player for hagelin thus my proposal of bonino and Stanton for hagelin. Bonino and hagelin are the same age and have similar stats over the past two years, boninos friendly cap hit allows new York to stay competitive and hagelin gives van arguably the fastest player in the league to go on a line with Matthias and vrbata. Not sure Bo could do that yet, nor should Vey or Matthias (both are better as wingers) and Bones is the closest guy we'd have for that IMO. Unless we get another Top 6 C I'd be against it; besides, Brassard and Stepan should be their Top-6 guys, and Dominic Moore and James Sheppard are their bottom-6. From what I've seen, many of Matthias' best games have come when he plays as a centre. He plays well enough on the wing, but he also excels as a centreman.
