He forgot to add the period before miller's twitter handle so everyone could see that tweet. Even if you go to lack's twitter page directly, you have to click on tweets and replies to see the miller tweet. Without the period, then only people who follow both lack and miller would see the first tweet so most people lacked context for the followup lucic tweet and thought lack was tweeting that out of the blue.
