thejazz97
I don't know if this could happen, but there's a chance: I think we might be able to overtake Anaheim for first place. Anaheim (46-22-7) has 99 pts with 7 games left at an L10 of 5-5-0 (50%). Vancouver (43-26-4) has 90 pts with 9 games left at an L10 of 7-2-1 (70%). If Anaheim wins 50 percent of their games, that gives them a record of 3-3-1, or 7 points over the rest of the season (106 pts total). If Vancouver wins 70 percent of their games, that gives them a record of 6-1-2, or 14 points over the rest of the season (104 pts total). If Anaheim loses more than three times in regulation, and we win >70% of our remaining games, we can take first spot in the Pacific! This might just be wishful thinking, but Anaheim hasn't been terribly hot lately (2-2-0, no Reg. Wins, 12G allowed in 2 games), while Vancouver has won 7 of their last 9. If this can continue, the Canucks will have a fairly good chance at playing Winnipeg in the first round (as well as the division crown)!
Aladeen
Statistically its possible, likely? no But I think that's a good thing not to have all the pressure of being a division champ going in to the playoffs.

Nuxfanabroad
Too unlikely. If the Canucks got within 4 or 5 pts of the Ducks, they'll ramp up their play(motivated by fear). Be nice however, if Van could finish strong & pass a couple more teams. If they ever went PO-deep, could get home ice in a later round.

sharnhayre
Mathematically its possible but realistically its not. I can see the Canucks clinching a spot and possibly sitting veterans to rest.
William_Clarkson
Better to focus on not blowing this playoff spot.

WilliesStache14
Even if Anaheim only wins 3 of their remaining 7 we'd still need to win 8 of 9 and that's if they lose those 4 games in regulation and get 0 points

apollo
Meh there would be had the league not fixed so many of the ducks games. We lost to the sabers, devils, jackets... We don't deserve 1st to be honest. That being said - we are the class of the pacific, no doubt.

Nucksfollower1983
We could be right there with them now if we had of won what were some very winnable games against sub par teams
Tystick
Imagine us JUST taking first spot in the Pacific, and then knocking Anaheim out in the playoffs. It would be icing on the (Kesler trade) cake.

For someone to clinch the Pacific division, they'd need 114 points. Anaheim's much more likely to get there than we are.
