I can't imagine what it can't do that 500 dollar tablets can. I used it for a bit to play poker, read ebooks, etc., and didn't feel like it was slow or non-responsive ever. I used it to stream Canucks games over my phone's wifi while I was in the hospital few months ago. Took some tinkering, but worked like a charm. Try to buy one brand new off Craigslist, Used, Kijiji, Ebay, etc..
