Baer.
Some people were high on this guy. Seems the Blackhawks were right to pick him up.The Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms on a two-year contract Thursday with 22-year-old right winger Kyle Baun, the team announced. Brian Bartlett, Baun's agent, tweeted that the coveted college free agent will join the Blackhawks this season, adding that he has great size and intelligence, (he has a) responsible game with offensive touch. The Blackhawks also agreed to terms on a two-year deal with defenseman Michael Paliotta, their third-round selection in theh 2011 NHL draft. Baun, a 6-foot-2, 204 pound junior at Colgate, has 39 goals and 40 assists in 113 college games and was a plus-13 this season. He will not be eligible for the postseason this year. "Exciting for us, knowing we got the guy everyone was looking for," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "He gives us some size. We'll see how he can handle it, how the pace is different from college to pros. He's a pretty exciting prospect." TSN's Bob McKenzie reported on Twitter that Baun agreed to a two-year, entry-level deal, one of which he would use if he plays for the Hawks this season. thejazz97
He's drafted....... Don't matter, cause I said 'get'. Let's do Vey for Vesey. If we don't get anything different player-wise or skill-wise, at least we've got an extra two letters.
Darth Kane
Don't they have cap issues? Shouldn't they focus on re-signing some guys first? These cap issues is why guys like Baun are valuable to the Blackhawks and why he likely sign with them. Next summer the likes of Bickell, Sharp, and Oduya will be gone. This creates opportunity for young guys like Baun (amongst their other prospects) to make the team. It may be a long shot for Baun to make the team, but it's possible, just look at TVR. The only free agents of note the team should re-sign are Saad and Kruger, neither should break the bank.

"The #Canucks did a really good job of pursuing him." Bartlett : "The #Canucks were in serious consideration all the way through the process for Kyle Baun."
