Coyotes radio analyst/commentator Nick Boynton is in jail here in Buffalo and is waiting to be arraigned on 6 charges.

BUFFALO – Arizona Coyotes radio analyst and former NHL defenseman Nick Boynton was leveled with a host of charges Thursday after an overnight incident at a casino.

Boynton was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and obstruction of government administration in connection with the situation, Buffalo Police spokesman Michael DeGeorge said.

The incident happened at approximately 1:45 a.m. when police say Boynton became abusive with patrons and security at the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino, damaged casino property and "at one point did bite the hand of an officer who was attempting to subdue him," DeGeorge said.

Boynton remains in police custody at the Erie County Medical Center. He's expected to be arraigned in Buffalo City Court Friday morning.

The Coyotes released the following statement:

"Early this morning, Coyotes radio color analyst Nick Boynton was involved in a situation at a Buffalo casino. A police investigation is underway. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and until the continuing legal process is completed, we will have no further comment. Mr. Boynton has been placed on a leave of absence."

Boynton played in the NHL for 11 seasons and was with the Coyotes from 2006-08. He joined the organization as a radio analyst before this season.

Right Place, Right Time:

Stanley+Cup+Finals+Chicago+Blackhawks+v+

Get traded to Hawks at deadline as a depth D-man in 2010. Play 7 regular season games and 3 playoff games for them, with a total TOI of 136:43. Forever labelled "Stanley Cup winner".

Wrong Place, Wrong Time:

This. Forever labelled "that dude who bit the cop".

Guess you won't be doing any games for the Yotes when/if they get McDavid.....

If he keeps his job, I hope he comes back to town next season and bites another cop. It's an entertaining story... lol

Depending on the rated degree of that assault charge, all of the charges are misdemeanors. He'll probably make a plea deal where he pleads "no contest" to a couple of them and then pays his fines. If they give him community service on top of the fines, I'll get to wave to him while he's picking up trash at the side of the road as I drive by.

Why the hell not? He's retired and can probably afford it.

I'd be getting drunk & gambling too if I was forced to be on my best behavior for 11 years.

Lol, I can't tell if that's a joke or not but it's funny either way. :towel:
