Jaimito
even if Ottawa goes 4-2 over their last 6 Bruins only need to win 2 of their remaining 5 not looking good Bruins won't get past first round.

420since1974
Sophomore Calgary Flames center Sean Monahan scored his 30th goal this season. Kris Russell has tied, and will probably set, a new league record for shots blocked in a single season.

Master Mind
Ottawa wins too though so it isn't over yet. It's looking like Detroit might be the team they can catch. I thought the Wings were sitting comfortably, I didn't realize how far behind Tampa they'd fallen.
Master Mind
Panthers won 6-1 and Luongo earned his 400th win. Luuuuuuu! Although it's too bad they blew the shutout with just a couple minutes to go. Seems almost fitting.

theminister
It's looking like Detroit might be the team they can catch. I thought the Wings were sitting comfortably, I didn't realize how far behind Tampa they'd fa 3 points behind with 5 games to go and they lose the tie breaker to both teams so they need 4 full point gains. I don't see them doing it.

-Vintage Canuck-
The NHL has reversed its stance on providing compensation for teams who lose executives to their rivals. Any team hiring someone from another organization who is under contract to be a GM, coach or president, must now compensate the team losing the staffer with a draft pick. If the hiring is done in the off-season, the team hiring the new man must surrender a third-round pick. If it’s done mid-season, the pick becomes a second-rounder. Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland has been effected the most in the non-compensation era (since 2006), losing a lot of good people over the years; Steve Yzerman, Jim Nill, Todd McLellan and Paul MacLean

-Vintage Canuck-
With this slick 51st goal of the season, Alex Ovechkin becomes the franchise leader with 473 goals! With tonight's goal, Ovi has scored on 26 of 29 teams this season! Yes, that's this season! The only teams that the Great 8 hasn't scored on this season are the Flames, Red Wings & Canucks. Also, is the youngest player (20 years, 172 days) in franchise history to score 30 goals in one season and the first to score 30 goals in a season since Jarome Iginla in 2011-12!
