Scorvat
Now San Jose is on the verge of a rebuild. They have a win now kind of team but lack goaltending. Maybe if they were offered miller they may hold off on the rebuild and go for it all next year. If Lack keeps playing the way he is he has to be our starter. Especially with his cap hit. The Sharks will most likely pick between 9-15, unless they win the lottery. Then we will deffiently not be able to make this trade. If SJS pick between 12-13 To SJS: Miller 1st To VAN: 1st If SJS pick between 9-11 To SJS: Miller Gaunce/Shinkaruk 1st To Van: 1st 3rd/4th If any team may be willing to hold off on a rebuild its the sharks. I could see them biting if Miller was offered.
Scorvat
Maybe if Lack leads us to a cup and we have the 30th overall pick I would think about the first deal. Other than that we would be giving up way to much too not even move that far up in the draft. Gain 6M in cap. Move up about 10 spots in the first round. I think its a great trade. For both us and the Sharks.
Pimp C
Lol such a terrible deal for the Sharks. I would laugh my ass off if they were dumb enough to do this.
Pimp C
We need to find a way to get more picks, not trading picks for picks. I think JB will focus more on scrounging up 2nd and 3rd's So we upgrade a pick around 20th to 10th and you think we should get 2nd's and 3rd's instead? Scorvat
If we get to round 3 we will get a pick between 27-30. Which very well could happen. If we dont we will get a pick between 17-26, right now we sit at 19. Most likely we will finish around 18-21. So the highest we will draft (unless we go 0-6) is 17. The highest i can see the Sharks picking is 11, lowest being 9. There is still a big difference in picks 11&17 and we would also be unloading 6M in cap space. If Lack continues to prove he can be our #1, why not do it? The most we would get is: 1st 3rd/4th
Baer.
Who is our starter next season? Niemi? no thanks
elvis15
The Sharks have stated they want to get a younger goalie to build around. It's been mentioned every time someone brings up anything related to this (Niemi, what to do with Miller, etc.). They aren't likely to pursue Miller as an older goalie who may be on the downswing, otherwise they'd just keep Niemi. Depending what happens with Anaheim this year in the playoffs though, they could decide they need a more established goalie for the short term. Skirbs11
Say the Canucks finish with the 18th pick and Sharks finish with the 10th pick. Most ppl look at it and go "oh wow we are moving up 8 spots and going to get a much better player" The reality of this draft is picks 1-6 are game changing players and picks 10-20 the caliber of players is all similar, There is no point in trading our first and a starting goalie to get a player of similar caliber than what we are already getting I get that it frees up cap space but there is other players on our roster that can be moved to free up cap space
EagleShield
Lack to SJ straight or with us adding in a late pick or b prospect is likely this year IMO.

I suspect that the only way the Canucks could get the SJ 1st involved in the conversation is if they also absorbed some significant SJ cap as part of the deal. If I had the 10th and had a shot at taking Crouse then it would take more than what I've seen to get me to agree to trade down. regards, G. VegasCanuck
Lol such a terrible deal for the Sharks. I would laugh my ass off if they were dumb enough to do this. Miller still has good life as a goalie. All the fans get down on anyone who plays net for us. Only a matter of time till they turn on Luongo....I mean Schneider.....I mean (Insert name of past Canuck starting goalie here)
Pimp C
Well if you are putting it that way..he mentions them having around the 12-15 pick so I looked at it as us having around the 20th then sending that pick plus a starting goalie to only move up 5-7 spots. It all depends on how you look at his proposal. I think Benning will look to move other players for 2nd's/3rd"s. I personally don't think Miller will be going anywhere this summer I hope we try to get picks but also try to unload Miller in the off season. supermanbieksa
They wouldn't for him as they want to have a younger goalie. But I could see Anaheim interested in Miller's services. Miller for Anaheims 1st and 4th or 2nd and Silfverberg?

Pimp C
You guys need to accept the fact that Miller has no value and just getting him off this team without retaining salary or giving up anything is an excellent trade for the Canucks. Please. Just get rid of him.

Anaheim have 2 great young and cheap goalies who have led them to the NHL's top record. Why would they dump one of them and add an inferior aging goalie and give up their 1st + ?
