CANUCKS OFFICIALLY CLINCH PLAYOFF SPOT....let the ascent begin

As a fanbase they are pretty loyal. Not every individual is though of course and as someone pointed out correctly, being loyal and being classy about it are two separate things.

It's easy being loyal when your team has been around for longer than 24 other teams, has won multiple cups ages ago and has 50 and 60 year olds as the "loyal ones". I know plenty of Leafs fans who won't even admit they're fans and claim to be Hawks or Kings fans. Leafs fans under 35 are generally just as bad if not worse than Canucks fans.

Interesting point. It's never simple or black and white (hence also my dislike of people speaking of "real fans").

I'm just dreaming here, but can you imagine a New York Rangers and Vancouver final?

I know it's a long shot but one can dream. Linden first your back, first time meeting in the playoffs since 94,

The coach with such a great following here. They can't write this stuff up.

odd thing.

i don't expect a run and it would not surprise me if we got blown out of the first round. Hell, I didn't expect to even make the playoffs in the first place. There for a good time, not a long time kinda thing.

That said I'll still be pissed when we are out...

The Canucks strike me as a true underdog team. They've played consistently well all season and for the most part have flown under the radar. Do I think they'll go all the way? Not really. But I could see them making the conference final.

This is the way I see it too. Expectations for them were low this season. But they've surprised everyone by what they've achieved. A conference final is possible. They've shown this season that they're capable of competing/beating the other top teams in the West. They've done it sometimes with a half dozen starters out of the lineup. Now they're reasonably healthy and the recovered players are fresh and just peaking. Teams can no longer just key on the Sedins because we have 3 other good lines now.

Can they go all the way? Why not? They've been surprising us all season with their 'never say die' attitude, their strong record on the road, and big wins over other top teams. The only caveat: their powerplay has to be better.

It's a question of IF we are out, not when ;)

I'd love to go to a playoff game this year. I've only ever been to one game and was last year..However, I unfortunately don't have a lot of big hockey fan friends that would like to go with me, or the hockey fans I do have, don't have the money..

I was thinking it would be awesome to try and get a couple people together and go.
