Blackberries
lol.. are you saying if a women wore a mens jersey, she would no longer look like a female? I think women look great in jerseys.. even if they are a jersey made for a man. I don't think they make them look masculine. As a woman with a non womans cut jersey ...i support this statement. brilac
I both a youth and a womens jersey. The youth one, the neck is a little tight, and the sleaves are shorter.

I didn't say it made them look masculine, I said it made them look a little more like boys. Women are less... flat compared to men. That's a fair assessment, right! Of course, a mere jersey will not hide someone if she's super-hot.
avelanch
at least a year ago. yeah, yours is way newer than my wife's (at least 5 years ago) they probably changed it. OP, you should just go with a woman's jersey, it'll fit better.

avelanch
unless she's under the age of 8, she'll kill you if you get her a pink one. even my 2 year old daughter wears a blue jersey.
Psylocke
How tall is she? I'm 5' and the sleeves on the youth jerseys are around 1-2 inches too short on me. So if she's even just like 5'2 those sleeves are going to be a ridiculously weird looking length. You're probably better off with the women's. Edit: I have a few youth Man U jerseys and there isn't that much of a difference between them and the adults. I'm guessing the Whitecaps ones should be similar. Was about to say basically this. The sleeves on the Youth ones tend to be shorter on adult women, so in terms of fit, the women's jersey would most likely fit better.
Psylocke
I also have a women's jersey and I'm 99% sure it has the crest and patches. Got it at least 3 years ago. Though I have noticed that some are just the vinyl/painted-on types.
otherwise
I have a youth L/XL 2010 team Canada jersey and it's a bit short it the arms for me. It fits okay other than that, Womens probably would be better though. Also the patch/crest is smaller. I have a youth City shirt and I really like it, it's umbro so the crest and umbro logo are embroidered into the shirt.
GoaltenderInterference
I think the womens ones switched from the printed logos to the stitched logos a year after they came out. IMO, go for the womens jersey cause the sleeves will be too short. Or you could try for an XS Mens jersey if she will wear hoodies underneath. I own a Canucks skate logo Youth jersey (it was $40, too good to pass up) and I keep the sleeves rolled up to my elbows so I don't look like an overgrown weed.As a woman with a non womans cut jersey ...i support this statement.Ditto. I wear the XS mens cut so the sleeves are the right length and I can wear a hoodie underneath (and so the logo doesn't look too small).

Make the youth crest/logo smaller and make the womens' bigger? I know the womens' jersey has a lower cut, but come on!
ckamo
I'm 5'2", I just get a men's small and wear a hoodie underneath. It's not a flattering look, but I don't really mind... For the Whitecaps jersey, I can confirm that the patches are not the same. I got the dark blue one the first year they were in MLS, it didn't have the Canadian flag patch and the diamond pattern in the background. HOWEVER, I would still suggest consider getting the women's cut because I find the shoulders on the men's kit sit uncomfortably on me and there's uh...no "room" in the front so it can get a bit tight.
