JamesB
This game is important. If we face Minnesota in the playoffs a win would give us home ice. A loss in any fashion would give Wild home ice Also if we make the finals we need this win to gaurentee home ice if by chance we do play them. Capitals Islanders Red Wings Good point. Home ice in the first round is decided. But the Canucks can finish as high as 5th in the Conference, which could help in the Conference finals. So tonight's game is not a mean-nothing game. Also, the Canucks need to play well in front of Miller to help him get back to form. And the strategy of "relaxing" for the last game often backfires. It seems to be bad psychologically. It is better to maintain a high level of play. The Canucks might not want to play a highly physical game and might not block too many shots, but they need to continue playing good hockey. Of course nagging injuries that could benefit from a bit more rest are a good reason to leave guys out, so I assume Matthias will not play. CanuckofSteel
I think Rogers Arena has concerts on Thursday and Saturday, so Game 1= Wednesday Game 2=Friday is likely. Proud of our guys this season, time to destroy the Lames. Please let game 2 be on Friday as I'm going to that game, hopefully it's not on Sunday or Monday. Canuck_in_AB
Let's rest some key players and throw in the youngins (Baerstchi, Vey, Kenins, etc) Pretty much business as usual. lol
Jaimito
Canucks: 23-15-2 home record 24-14-3 road record So everyone who is saying that they wished we had road ice advantage, please shut up Flames: 23-13-5 home 22-17-2 road Similar to the canucks as it is very even Playoffs are a different season, and fans have more chances to see them play live. vs flames, maybe not so big deal since they historically played well in Saddeldome. Besides, win tonight, they will have 24 wins both home and away. Great sign. Also, like above poster said, can also affect home ice vs other teams if they make further rounds. Canuck_in_AB
Does this mean that tonights game is just a pad-the-stats game? Not quite. A win tonight pushes us past Minnesota. That'll come in handy down the road...

Canuck Surfer
A very serious congratulations to Trevor Linden and the Canucks! I'm thrilled as a fan! I don't believe every move was perfect; but Jim Benning, Willie and Radim were all gold decisions! And so well done, in particular by all our rebounding players! Edler, DANNY, Henrik, Burr, yes Bieksa, yes Higgins, Miller although new to us, LACK and Hansen who is still solid. But also by newbies HORVAT, Bonino, Sbisa who improved as the year went, KENINS and Vey. Thanks all!
Toyotasfan
I find it odd that with Winnepeg resting so many starters, Calgary put no effort to try for home ice advantage. It gives the Canucks a free pass tonight and the Flames start the playoffs on a losing note.

Tortorella's Rant
Look at that kid. Not even excited. So much discipline. He's just like, what's the next word? While his parents are in the audience ready to crack their whips.
Honky Cat
Canucks have had some good things go their way the last few days...avoiding a first round matchup with the Kings and getting home ice against the Flames....Now we just have to capitalize on it.
