Penguins are going to make some big moves in the off-season and they really shouldn't. Half their top defencemen were injured, Malkin was playing hurt, not much you can do when 2 or 3 of your stars are out of the lineup. No team can deal with the injuries they've had, especially not one that relies on their top stars as much as the Penguins.

That team desperately needs some depth scoring.

As for the Rangers, they mean business. Not many teams have been able to close out their series so far (see Montreal, Chicago, Calgary). The Rangers and Ducks are the only ones with the killer instinct so far this playoffs so I think they'll go a long way and probably see each other in the Finals. The Rangers are definately the team to beat in the East.

The thing is, the Pens have been playing like garbage for a long while now. There are going to be a lot of questions going into the summer, because this team was supposed to contend. They had great expectations and completely let down everybody. They were lucky to even be in the post season.

I agree though, the Penguins NEED depth badly. They sorely lacked. Also I think this is NYR's year. They're looking scary.

I guess firing Dan Bylsma last year wasn't enough.

Know what would be a weird SCF matchup: Calgary vs Washington.

I wish the fans didn't kick out AV.

Or Luongo for that matter.

Great job fans, you have destroyed the Canucks.

I doubt the fans had any effect on that decision at all. IIRC, a lot of Canuck fans were firmly against Gillis extending him.

I am one of the guys who defended AV throughout the ups and downs, when so many fans wanted him gone, but I agreed with the decision when he was finally let go. I think the team needed some kind of significant change and since it's pretty much impossible to trade the entire team, Vigneault was the obvious choice.

The problem for me was the hiring of Tortorella. I thought it was a terrible fit and I firmly believe that it had a direct effect on guys like Edler and the Twins.

AV was and is an excellent coach. It's just too bad that so few Canuck fans realize and acknowledge it.
