Mustapha
Blues are a bunch of pretenders, not surprised at all. What's that now, 4 series losses in a row? I had to laugh at my friends who took them in their playoff pool. Chicago/Minnesota might be the best matchup of the second round. Hawks will need to fix their goaltending quick if they hope to beat Minny.
luineul
Probably the coaching staff. I also think Backes should go to make room for better leadership, but I doubt that happens. With all the talent they have, they should have better results. Agreed. They have a team that can win - they just need a) solid goaltending, and someone in the coaching staff that can light a fire under the bench when needed. The Blues are generally disciplined and didn't lose due to a lack of effort in this series - a lack of drive, maybe.

luineul
Ive said this before but doesn't anyone else think this blues team is just like the west coast express Canucks. great regular season can't do anything in the playoffs Nope. They have way more skill, way more depth offensively and defensively, and way more discipline. They're also less physical and have goaltending issues. Finally, their regular seasons have been far more consistent than the Canucks in recent years.
amplified0ne
Thumbs down to all the TSN experts that picked the Blues to be in the cup final lol. Chicago has a wealth of clutch playoff performers, Wild have Parise who seems to be their clutch performer.

Okay I don't even think you're old enough to comment on this. The number 1 problem with the west coast express canucks was goaltending. This St.Louis team has slightly better goaltending but really its been pretty mediocre for them the past 2-3 years.
UFCanuck
St.louis has incredible depth. Peitrangelo is a #1, Shattenkirk is a #1 Offensive D. But they still keep losing, it's the San Jose syndrome.
Honky Cat
First real upset of the playoffs..IMO...Minny was going to be a tough opponent, but they're certainly not considered a cup contender..St Louis went out in the first round last year as well....I think Mr Hitchcock will most likely looking for employment elsewhere before the summers out. The Blues' talent is a little more distributed throughout their roster instead of being concentrated in their top line and top defensive pairing, but yeah... There's still some sort of missing element, as there was with the Canucks. I don't think Cloutier or Auld ever played as bad as Allen did though this series... lol. van_ws
The Blues playoff record makes the Canucks look good.Always will be chokers, just like the Sharks.

oldnews
Dont' care for Backes or Hitchcock, so having a hard time feeling bad for the Blues. The way they've handled their goaltending the past few years, and particularly Elliott, sorta begs for failure. The "USA" chants their fans like to engage in aren't too endearing either. They've made some good moves and some odd moves. I still can't wrap my mind around letting Svoboda walk and showing the money to Ott instead. Derp. Hard for me to drum up any sympathy for the Blues. even though I'm hardly a fan of the Wild either. That being said, I'm definitely pulling for Minny against the 'Hawks. I think they can do it too. I'm calling six games.
-Vintage Canuck-
Hitchcock's playoff record in the last 37 games is 12-25 with just one playoff round win since 2003-04!
