nickels555
I'm personally not a big Brian Burke fan, but you can not argue with his success. With the exception of the Leafs, he has a great track record of rebuilding teams. Brought us the Sedins, a Stanley Cup to Anaheim...and a bright future for this Calgary team. Sam Bennett and Monahan might be the best 1 2 punch of young centers in the league.

Piggy Bank
How young do you mean? Best 1-2 'young punches' Stamkos - Johnson Duchene - MacKinnon RNH - McDavid Reinhart - Eichel Barkov- Huberdeau Tavares - Strome
Carl's Jn
i do agree the flames seem to play with edge where the canucks. don't. The difference is the canucks are a puck possession team where as the flames arean't ... if the canucks don't have the puck then they aren't working hard enough.. which was apparent in tonights game... Thank goodness for Horvat and the pipeline of McCann, Cassels, Gaunce...still unproven, but it gives us some hope for the future.

Certainly not since Bennett has only played a handful of NHL games, but you could easily start by looking at Reinhart and Girgensons in the same light, or Barkov and Bjugstad. You could easily look at those that aren't both quite rookies or sophomores anymore as well, with Johansen and Jenner, Tavares and Strome (and Neilson/Nelson/Lee), Duchene and MacKinnon (and ROR). All young still and highly productive.

Ghostsof1915
Who to accredit to all the Canucks moves? Linden or Benning? Burke is the President. Calgary is benefitting from missing the playoffs for 6 years straight. Burke's moves worked wonders in Toronto right? Look how great they're doing right now.....oh wait. I think he's a pretty good hockey manager. Just a strong personality but so what?
