A little appreciation - Bo Horvat

Horvat has been terrific in all aspects. As much as I hate to put too much on a kid's plate, he should be getting considerably more ice-time here because he looks like someone who can handle the extra responsibility. Bo's play is a shining light.

makes me excited for 3-4 years down the road when he's going to be entering his prime! kids got me excited!

One of the announcers DID say that if he had been playing all season like he did in the last half he would have been in discussions of the calder and may have won it. and it's true, and it sucks he got injured in the preseason which slowed his development a bit. he probably would have been playing the way he is muchfaster had that not occurred.

That announcer is such a homer.

I'm so tired of this bs media coverage. ::D

I'd like to see Bo with more ice-time, and better line mates. His line has been good, but I'd like him to have the same support that Gaudreau and Bennett have in Hudler, monahan, backlund, and coborne.

It was a huge relief to see Bo come back in that game. Without Bo.... yikes, Vey?

Are McCann or Cassels available yet?

Pretty much underlines the importance of having great young talent in the lineup. Change is coming. (slowly)

Lest we forget; I was thinking that last night as Trevor and TC watched the Canucks get manhandled and skated in to the ice.

What kind of assessment is management getting out of this series?

I thought LA would be a better assessment tool, but Calgary's speed and tenacity is a good marker for the Canucks to measure up to - mind to last night they were way, way behind - as Beeker alluded to in the post-game. He even recognized that was one of their worst games of hockey since all those losses to the basement dwellers.

IMO Willie needs to give him and opportunity to step into a bigger role to see what he can do. Currently the goods outweigh the bads in his play, throw him in at 2C with someone like Vrbata to finish and see what happens..

I actually really liked the fact that he screamed at Ferland from the bench after game 2's brawl (where everyone was talking about Miller pointing his finger and what he might have said).

Just shows to me he's not willing to sit and let things happen. He's got intensity!

that's what i focused on as well. i couldn't care less what miller was doing/saying. Horvat, however, leaned over and was trash-talking him the entire way.

I disagree with Vrbata.

The "perimeter" game is not working, and it almost never works in a playoff series... unless you have absolutely talented snipers such as prime Naslund (and even then, he had big Bert).

Horvat has been gold skating down with speed and driving the net, or peeling to the back and finding the trailer who is driving the net. We need someone that is fast and is willing to go to the crease, such as Matthias.

Well, the series isn't over yet. This is the year, so extending a 1st round series to 6 games will be moot by the end of it.

WEstern Canada is set for great hockey for the next 10 years plus. McDavid and Hall, Bennett and Monahan, Horvat and ????. Should be great for us fans for years.

Excited to see him develop. With young guns like him, Virtanen (played with him, good was kinda lazy in junior though, cocky abbotsford kid, but he's definitely got high-end talent), Shinkaruk, Cassels, Pedan, McCann maybe even Jensen in the wings excited to see them start to take control of the team. Sedins can take a secondary scoring role to end out there careers, and we can get some young exciting kids out here, much like Calgary now.
